Entries for our first BD Affiliated Dressage Competition of the year on Saturday, 1st March, close this Wednesday at 8 PM!

This will be our first dressage competition in the outdoor long arena—the boards are out and ready to go! 👀 There’s still plenty of time to book an arena hire and get some practice in over the next few days.

📣Arena Eventing Clinic Saturday 15th March 2025.📣

Slots are filling up really fast, so if you want to take part, and practice the Arena Eventing fences with guidance from Les Ingham, ahead of our first Arena Eventing competition of the year which will take place on Sunday 13th April, then now is your chance!

We have space in the following classes :

1 (30/40cm) - 1 space
2 (40/50cm - 3 spaces
5 (60/70cm) - 4 spaces

If there are members who wish to jump 90cm +, we could potentially create another group of 4 - we already have one person who would enter this, so just need another 3.

The heights of each session are a guideline only, so if you wanted to try a few fences a bit bigger than your height session, we can be flexible.
Similarly, if this would be your first time trying arena eventing, every fence is optional, so if there was a fence you just didn't fancy, then there will be no pressure to jump it!

Starting at 10:15 with the cross poles.

Remember, we are running Table A7, so the jump-off will be after everyone has jumped the first round.

Late entries will be taken on the day.

Entries close at 9pm tonight for Sunday's show jumping.

Winter show jumping is ran as Table A7 (meaning a separate jump-off after all the class has jumped), as we appreciate some horses are not as fit as they might be during the summer.

First class due to start at 10:15.

Food Monkeys Catering will be on site and ready to keep you all fed and watered.

⛔️DRESSAGE SATURDAY 25TH JANUARY CANCELLED⛔️

It’s been a wild day and we hope that you and all your four-legged friends are safe.

Unfortunately we have a fallen tree on a phone line on Kennaa Road which we feel is unsafe for those of you travelling to us to compete. Given the amount of trees still down across the Island we feel it’s highly unlikely to be cleared tomorrow and whilst disappointing to not go ahead, your safety is paramount 🫶🏽🐴

All entries will be carried forward to our next Dressage on the 15th February.

Entries for our next Showjumping competition on 2nd February are open, 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽 for some more sympathetic weather conditions next week!

A quick reminder that entries for our Kennaa Riding Club Unaffiliated Dressage Competition on Saturday 25 January close tomorrow (Wednesday) night at 8pm!

The weather’s looking pretty wild for Friday 💨but good to go for Saturday! 😅

Remember, you need to be a fully paid-up member to take part.

🥳Entries are open for our first unaffiliated dressage competition of the year on Saturday 25 January!🥳

New classes this year include an early morning PYO Elementary to Advanced Medium (great for those who like to finish early!) and a Prelim Any Tack class (ideal for riders using non-BD legal tack, such as martingales or non-BD approved bits), making it more accessible for everyone to be able to have a go.

Winter dressage is a fantastic opportunity for show jumpers to tune up their flatwork and for eventers to prepare for the ODE season.

All tests will be indoors for this event.

⛔️SHOWJUMPING SUNDAY 12TH JANUARY CANCELLED⛔️
Sadly due to the frozen arenas, car parks and pathways, we are cancelling our showjumping this Sunday 12th January.
The weather warning for ice has been extended until tomorrow, and this leaves us no time to prepare the arenas and public areas so that we can run safely.
We are so sorry, as we know many were looking forward to joining us at our first event of 2025, but we have to put the safety of our horses (and their riders!) first.
All entries will be carried forward to our next Showjumping on the 2nd February.
Entries for our first Dressage of the year on Saturday 25th January are open, and we are really hoping that the weather will be kinder.

Showjumping this Sunday 12th January.
The long range weather forecast looks good (how much we can trust it is anyone's guess!), so at this stage it will be going ahead.
It is taking place on the outdoor arena, starting at 10.15am with 40cm x poles. Juniors and Seniors will run concurrently.
Entries close this Friday at 9pm, and can be made via My Riding Life.
