Ingrid Wagner - A Painter's Textiles Big ideas in Art & PR Ingrid Wagner has a passion for colour. Her studio in Staffordshire is a riotous & colourful reflection of her travels.

She is a visual artist and textile designer who has lived & worked in many different countries worldwide. Ingrid holds a First Class Honours degree in Textile Design and a Masters in Cultural Management. She ran her own textile business from 2005 to 2019. She now focuses on painting but retains an interest in textiles and in making on Big Needles. Ingrid’s paintings, like her textile designs, begi

n life in her sketchbooks, an indispensable aid to recording what she sees on her travels. Her larger scale paintings employ a multi media approach. Her principle influences in both her paintings and textiles are Degas, Matisse, Delacroix, Jim Dine, Antoni Gaudi and contemporary designer, Zandra Rhodes. Ingrid’s artwork has been featured in many regional & national publications. She holds the record for knitting with the world’s largest needles, was lead artist on the ambitious knit/arts project “A Coat for a Boat” (2009) and has appeared on This Morning & Countryfile TV. She exhibits widely in the UK. Ingrid is also a published writer, photographer, trained dancer and former BBC dubbing editor. She has a strong interest in developing the creative in an individual and works with education and culture & enterprise agencies to deliver programmes which are thought provoking, exciting and creative. She offers work experience opportunities to students aged 16+.
