Marston, Stafford - Witness appeal following Livestock attack

We are appealing for information after a dog chased a number of sheep in a field on Marston Lane, Marston, near Stafford, on Friday 21 February.

It happened between 9pm and 10pm.
As a result, four sheep were hurt and three pregnant ewes in the field have sadly passed away.

We are keen to speak to the owner of a blue vehicle seen on the lane between these times. It was also in the area a few days before at a similar time.

If you have witnessed this vehicle in the local area, we would also like to hear from you.

If you have any information, please don’t hesitate to email [email protected] , quoting reference number 472 of 22 February.

Should you encounter livestock on land you walk through please:
- Ensure your dog is on a lead at all times
- Keep them under close control when walking through fields of livestock, particularly sheep

Livestock worrying is a criminal offence and comes under the Dogs (Protection of Livestock) Act 1953.

‘Worrying’ is where a dog attacks or chases livestock causing injury or suffering.

This isn’t just a threat to a farmer or land owner’s livelihood, it’s also dangerous for the animals involved and could lead to more risk if the animals get onto the road.

Always keep your dog under control around other animals and if you see a dog on the loose worrying animals please report this to us.

Sadly, Wilbur is still looking for a loving home. If you think you could help please message me in the first instance for more information

Meet Wilbur! Through no fault of his own (or his owners) he is sadly looking for a new 'forever' home. Wilbur is a 2 year old pedigree Cocker Spaniel. Neutered, fully up to date with vaccinations etc. He has a few issues, minor separation anxiety, quite vocal and demanding but from all accounts, nothing some good training and discipline wouldn't cure. We have been informed that he is ok with other dogs albeit a little too friendly. Again training will help. This is the reason ONLY people experienced in the breed or experienced previous dog owners will be considered. Wilbur is not suited to a household with small or young children. He is also not good with cats. He is a typical boisterous, young Cocker who needs regular exercise so please do not enquire unless you are aware of what this would entail. Please direct message me in the first instance or comment below if any more information is required. Any prospective new owner will be vetted and expected to keep in touch with the current owners initially.

U P D A T E // ✨ Holly is now HOME safe ✨

Lost Dog: HOLLY
Lost from: Stafford Castle
Missing since 10/01/25

We have been asked to help find missing dog Holly by her owner. Lauren is putting a team together, working with Drone SAR For Lost Dogs UK to help locate, capture & reunite this lovely girl with her Mum.

When dogs are lost, they can revert to 'survival mode', meaning that dogs can become more reactive & defensive, as well as more inclined to run away or hide from any perceived threats... even their owners 😔

SOCIAL MEDIA
This being the case, we are asking people not to report any sightings of Holly on social media as we would like to keep the area she is in as quiet as possible. Instead, please report all sightings to: 07523 366738

DO NOT
✖️ Do not chase
✖️ Do not whistle
✖️ Do not call

DO
✔️ Report all sightings to 07523 366738
✔️ Check CCTV & Ring doorbells for sightings
✔️ State time, location & direction of travel
✔️ Check outbuildings

We will keep you all updated.
Thank you 🙏
