I’ve just heard Robin crowing for the first time since he came to Lowveld! (albeit at bedtime in his crate 😂) 👋👋👋
This surely must be a sign that he’s now feeling good after all the pain and suffering he’s experienced, and that he’s ready to move forward with his life 🥰
Absolutely brilliant, what a brave little man he is ❤️
Caught on camera!
This is who destroys our overhead netting and lets in the pheasants and pigeons 😱
Smokey, Gertie and Joe enjoy a bath in the sunshine 😊
While we were shutting up for the night tonight, i found a pigeon who had got into our netted corridor. Terrifying for 2 reasons 😱 firstly we are trying everything possible to keep wild birds out of our enclosures, and secondly the cats had noticed and were on top of the netting, licking their lips 😱
I tried to usher him out through the gate, but he just kept flying into the fence and netting and was getting more and more tired.
I eventually managed to corner him on the ground and grab him.
After a quick check over i released him, and he flew off high into the sky.
The cats were disappointed!
Fleur has been here since the beginning of January, and she’s well and truly settled in.
She enjoys the company of 3 little bantams next door, and she’s an older, gentle girl, so I’ve been considering who would be the perfect companion for her 🤔 Robin springs to mind 😁
Fleur came here after a bereavement, and Robin was found as a stray.
It would be such a happy ending for them both 🥰
Watch this space!
Baby Mikey is now 6 weeks old, he’s looking so grown up! 🥰
This is Granville and his ladies exiting their Eglu this morning.
They have to come out through the nest box door each day, because 2 great big Orpington girls stand by the front door waiting for me to open it, and they completely block the way out for everyone else 😄
Anyone would think they’ve never been given a drink of clean water 😂
These are the Bonfire Night Ladies this morning, when Rob topped up their drinker. These ladies cheated death when they escaped from their commercial egg farm during de stocking.
They survived in snow in nearby fields and were rounded up by an amazing person who brought them to us on November 5th last year 🥰
Every morning when i clean her coop, this hen jumps on my back and starts digging around on my shoulders, that’s why she’s named Digger 😁
