I can just picture and feel this stretch from the description, can't you?

It's so lovely to teach people how to help their animals and to hear back how they are reacting. A big stretch like this is such a lovely way for an animal to release anxiety πŸ’š

Shame we don't have an actual picture of the stretch, but I don't need one to know what a difference this will have made to starting to help Whisper on his Trust Technique journey from anxious to calm 😊

LAMINITIS, let's see less of this.
A lack of connection in the white line,a little bit of footiness/tenderness, redness in the hoof, rings on the walls, these are warning signs about your horse's diet.

Why is it that people can't get the connection between hoof health and a simple more natural diet?
They are happy to listen to people telling them that there's a magic way to trim with no reference to diet.
They will be happy to buy numerous amounts of expensive sweet coated supplements to FIX the hooves.
They will ask advice from lots of professionals until they hear something that suits them, not the horse.
Then when the horse gets more laminitic, they will look for more invasive methods or shoeing, before thinking about the cause.
Let's try and get people to understand the importance of the connection, let's try and get to them before the marketing people?

"...He got into a position I had never seen...."

Yesterday's consultation was with a lovely pony called Whisper. I didn't work with his companions, but couldn't resist sharing some of the photos of the adorable mini shetland sisters. You have to agree, all 3 are really cute 😍

Whisper can get quite anxious, so we are starting to help him find some peace. I introduced him to the Trust Technique and he took to it straight away 😊

Later in the consultation I taught his person how to use the technique with him and she has messaged me this morning to say that she practiced yesterday evening and saw great results:

"I practised last night in the stable. He got into a position I had never seen. He stretched out his front legs (like dog play position) and then tapped his front hooves in succession a few times. Then he went back to eating his hay."

This is so lovely to hear. It means he has been able to release some of the tension he was carrying by stretching it out. Unusual stretches are just some of the ways that animals show us they are releasing tension and anxiety during a Trust Technique session.

I will share further updates on Whisper once we have done a follow up session, but it already sounds like amazing changes are taking place for him, thanks to the practice being done.

Acupuncture for horses.... Does it work?

Alfie has been dealing with several physical issues at once, which meant he was struggling to walk and has had to be kept in to rest for several weeks.

I can't thank V&T Equine services enough for how much they've helped him.

Ralitsa is the very skilled holistic vet that carried out the acupuncture, and her husband equally so with the barefoot trimming as a natural hoofcare practitioner.

You can see at the start of this video how going outside for even a very short walk was a big challenge..... watch what happens after the hoof adjustment trim and the acupuncture 😊

Function over fashion 🀣

Where I keep Alfie, we have a rota for filling all the haynets for the horses on the track. Today was my turn and my husband, Mike said he would help me.

Usually when he does this, he ends up with wellies full of hay, and subsequently, when he takes the wellies off, we end up with a pile of hay in the porch and 2 socks full of hay!

I've been meaning to get some welly toppers for him but keep forgetting.

So today we improvised (us horsey folk are good at that) with strips cut off feed sacks and some duct tape. Two items you will nearly always find at any horse yard.

It may not look pretty, but it did the job 😁

A post inspired by a sponge!

Well actually a post inspired by a post about a sponge.... πŸ˜†

My first thought on reading the word sponge was 'Sponge Bob Square Pants'....

Then I thought of one of the nicknames we have for our dog Bobbi... 'Square Bob Fluffy Pants".

I think you can see from the photo of his back end why we call him this...

It also reminds me I need to give him a tidy up trim πŸ˜‚

He looks a bit too much like a sheep at the moment bless him, especially as he doesn't have a tail. It's why we called him Bobbi, because he bobs his back end up and down as his equivalent of a wag 😊

Other nicknames for him are Bobalobs, The Bobs and Bobster.

Our Jessi is Jessi bear, The bear or Jess joops.

Lilli is Lillipops, Popsicle or Lilli mouse.

They also collectively get called Chickens πŸ˜†

What nicknames do you have for your pets? Bonus points for pics 😊

Want Β£50 for free and a fantastic business bank account?

In the UK and just starting out in business as a solopreneur? Perhaps you already have a business bank account but don't like the charges?

I wanted to share a great offer with you. Mettle (by NatWest) are a fantastic business bank account provider for small businesses. I've used NatWest since I opened my first bank account and so Mettle were the obvious choice when it came to opening my business account. Plus, being NatWest this isn't a random unknown company.

Their customer service is really great and they respond to messages without delay. The best bit is there are NO monthly charges and NO transaction charges. Really 😊

The app allows you to send invoices and receive payments that are easily tied to the invoices, categorise transactions, add receipts and more.

They've sent me a code to share that will work to give Β£50 for the first 5 people to sign up and I get Β£50 too. (Any more than 5 and I won't get the Β£50 but if you sign up you still will).

The conditions:

🌟 You need to be accepted to open an account with them (see below)

🌟 You need to make a card payment within the first 30days of opening the account

🌟You have to enter the code B S V R S into the app after you make this first payment 🌟

Simples!

The eligibility can be checked on their website. https://www.mettle.co.uk/

Don't lose that code: B S V R S or you won't get the £50 without it😊 (Feel free to add me as a connection so you can more easily find this post again)

Do you know what the Trust Technique is?

Following a previous poll, it seems that most people have either never heard of the Trust Technique, or they have but don't really know what it is.

I thought I would do a short video on the difference between the Trust Technique and other methods, so here it is:

13/03/2024

I'm looking for 5 people this month with anxious dogs, who would like their pet to be calm and trust them implicitly, to receive a 2hr tailored in-person consultation, plus 2x 40min follow ups for Β£195. (County Durham UK and surrounding counties)

This morning, Alfie has had his 2nd session of equine touch from the lovely Heather Vaulkhard

He's having it to help him get balanced and back in alignment, after pulling his neck and back out.

He really enjoyed it and it's having a very beneficial effect already. Heather is really pleased with his progress since the first session a few weeks ago, so hopefully he will be able to go back out soon 😊

I'd highly recommend Equine Touch and Heather.

How does listening to people relate to calming your anxious dog?

There are people in my life that talk to me about issues I can't resolve for them, but I listen to them and it helps them by giving them the opportunity and space to talk.

They see me as someone they can trust so the next time they have an issue they come to me.

The release of talking is beneficial in firstly getting it out and then sometimes helping them find the answer themselves.

I'm not a trained counsellor for people and will leave that to those that are, but what I am, is a trained and qualified Trust Technique practitioner for animals.

This technique effectively teaches both how to share a feeling of peace as well as listen to your dog, horse or other four legged friend, to give them the opportunity and space to communicate their feelings.

The balance of these 2 things, allows the release of anxiety (or other emotion) enabling them to be calm and peaceful.

Once the release happens they start to see things from a different, calmer perspective, we can then guide them towards learning they are able to happily be in situations they couldn't before.

As a by product of this the trust they have in you becomes deeper, just like it does with people.

Ultimately, every being wants to be peaceful, trust those around them and enjoy life.

Are you ready to learn how to create peace of mind for your animal, help them see things in a different way and be able to fully enjoy life together?

POLL QUESTION: 1 website or 2? Please comment 1 or 2.

Details to consider:

For 2 separate but related businesses, the first being the Trust Technique (working with animals) which is currently my main focus and the second being Reiki healing for animals and people, I don't know whether to expand my current website (I'm mid re-vamp on it) or create a second one.

I own the same domain in both .co.uk and .com so that isn't a problem if I go with 2 sites.

I use Canva for hosting, so the layout is fairly basic with pages you scroll down (and can jump to via the top menu) but I can't section them off other than this, so it's effectively 1 page with separate sections.

One of the packages I'm thinking of offering is mostly the Trust Technique but with a couple of Reiki treatments included, so would I then put this on both and link the 2 together if I just used 1 website?

If I go with 1 website I'm thinking of using a different colour background for the reiki to help distinguish the 2 businesses.

Any other thoughts or suggestions as well as voting 1 or 2 would be gratefully received in the comments. Thanks 😊

Had a couple of hours off this afternoon to spend some time with hubby at our favourite coffee place, House of Botanics. Highly recommend if you are in the area. They have a fantastic menu, and it's very welcoming 😊

What's your favourite place for a bit of a break from work?

Yes this happened! πŸ˜‚ Unfortunately I wasn't quick enough to start videoing when I first saw them in the big puddle.... literally swimming up the drive! Never seen ducks at the yard before!

Don't work with children and animals.....

That's how the saying goes isn't it?

Well I don't know about children. The last time I worked with them was for school work experience in a nursery (many years ago πŸ˜†). I enjoyed it but it wasn't meant to be my vocation.

Anyway I digress! I think this should be changed to:

**Don't work with tech!**

Spent far too long trying to pair some wireless earphones to my mobile so I could listen to a podcast whilst walking down to see Alfie (my horse).

In the time it took to attempt this (no, I didn't get them to work πŸ™„) I could have already walked there.

I ended up driving down instead πŸ™ˆ

Still, my normal earphones will be charged when I get back and ready for tomorrow.

Hubby's earphones that I was going to borrow, now disconnected from his mobile, in the attempt to connect to mine, may be a different matter... let's hope we can reconnect them 🀭

Lesson learnt? Stick with animals (not tech)

Oh.... and charge earphones more often! πŸ˜‚

I suddenly had inspiration yesterday to revamp my website πŸ’‘πŸ’»

After a few days of being poorly 😷 and not even having the energy to create posts, I randomly decided to start improving my website.

I know I should be posting and doing admin but I'm on a roll and have spent most of today working on a new design.

I feel I need to go for it whilst the creative streak is up and running. Besides, it's rainy and miserable outside and being creative is far more appealing than housework 😁

Watch this space for updates!

What have you been doing instead of not doing this weekend?

😊 I just love what Kristy has to say about the Trust Technique after our consultation:

🌟 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾 🌟

"I really wish more people knew about this method, I've been on 'reactive dogs' facebook groups for over a year and done research on training techniques but never once came across anything like what you do. If I hadn't seen ******'s post and read up on you I'd have never known. Its not even training, it's made me think in a whole different manner and it's literally like learning of a new secret power. Sounds silly I know but I always said my one power would be to want to talk to animals. I feel like I've deprived him of this 2 way understanding the whole time!"

🌟 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾 🌟

Would you like to learn how to deepen the relationship with your dog so that you can understand them better and use this to help them with anxiety or reactivity?

Lovely update from a recent client 😊

You may have seen my post where I introduced Banjo (dog) and Dora (cat), who I met last weekend. (I'm a little late with this update as I caught the virus that is doing the rounds!)

On Tuesday, Kristy sent me an update to let me know that she had managed to have Dora in the room with Banjo and then get up to take her out of the room without Banjo chasing her. Whilst there are still some steps to go, she hadn't been able to do this before.

This is fantastic progress given it was only 2 days after our first session!
