Having lived in Africa for many years, I struggled to find treats and biscuits for my dog and the ones I did find were often overpriced and stale! So, as a cake decorator and keen baker, I decided to put my skills into action and bake my own dog treats. Unlike standard mass produced treats, Kelso and Titch treats are handmade using only natural ingredients. These actually taste so good that I'm te

mpted to eat them myself, but I wouldn't like to deprive my pooch! The company is named after my dogs who were both brought to the UK from Africa. Sadly Titch is no longer with us as the evacuation from his native Libya in 2011 and subsequent 6 months quarantine just proved too much for his state of mind. Kelso was adopted by us earlier this year from a neighbour in Luanda, Angola. When we knew we were moving back to the UK we brought her with us and she is currently ruling the roost in her new home with us in Scotland.

It’s with a heavy heart that we have to announce from 13th December 2024 we will be unable to ship to the EU and Northern Ireland.

This is due to new GPSR regulations coming into force. If you are wondering what this means, it basically states that if you are shipping from the UK to the EU or NI, you are required to have an EU Responsible Agent in each country who can ensure product safety and compliance. While we understand the reasons behind the change, the logistics and practicalities of obtaining the necessary agents is way beyond our capability as a small business.

We hope that a resolution can be found soon which will allow us to open our shipping channels once again.

Please note that we are still able to ship to the US and beyond. Only the EU and NI are affected at this time.

Many thanks for your support ⭐️

We love when customers send us photos of their puppers. This is Finn off out on his first walk, fully kitted out in his Doodlebone jumper and matching harness. What you won’t know is that Finn’s owners live down in the Scottish borders and all of our business was done online through our website and messenger. We hope to meet Finn and his family in person one day.

So don’t forget, if you’re not local we can help you remotely when needed. ☺️

Colour Friday is this coming Friday, 29th November and yes, it’s on the same day as Black Friday and it’s fabulous and very different - a real event to support!

I wanted to share some food for thought with you!

5 ways Colour Friday is different TO BLACK FRIDAY

It's better for the planet!

Where Black Friday focuses on soulless, impulsive consumption (with mass produced goods that often end up in landfill), we're encouraging everyone to shop more ethically - and with their hearts - for unique, handmade finds, created with care and made to last.

It's better for communities

By voting with their money, customers are helping communities thrive. It means people still get the human touch, not faceless chains.
It encourages us to work together and collaborate, not compete for deals. We know we are stronger together.

It's better for building a fairer society

Supporting small businesses means that money is spread between the many rather than going into the pockets of the few, funding family run businesses not billionaires. Colour Friday shines a light on independents who can't compete with big sales so they're not constantly overshadowed.

It's better for you, the shoppers

Colour Friday campaigns for a world where the gifts we give are one-of-a-kind and meaningful, and our shopping experience (as well as our homes) are full of creativity, colour and personality, not just generic, soulless brands.

It's better for showing Christmas spirit

Christmas isn't the time for a stressful, shopping frenzy. It's a time to live mindfully by our values, to help each other and connect us, to put principles before profit. That's exactly what Colour Friday supports and stands for — quality not quantity.

If you are still with me, and I hope you are, I wanted to share just some fabulous small (and local) businesses that I have purchased from and can highly recommend!

Kelso and Titch for all your furry friends needs 🐕‍🦺🐈
JB Moments Photography for creating photographic memories 📸
Ooshasc by Mel Anderson for fabulous pre loved clothing 👗
Caledonian Blooms Ltd for beautiful flowers 🌺 and gifts 🎁
Sparkle By Elle for fabulous nails 💅🏾
MiaMae for lovely candles 🕯
Clan Artisan for great gifts and hampers 🎁
Kay Devine ART for fabulous artwork and glassware 🩷

And of course there is me 🩷🩷

Please support colour this weekend - it’s definitely the new black and it makes so many people really happy!

🩷❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜

Much love Fiona xxCaledonian Blooms LtdSparkle By ElleMiaMae
