K9 Massage Clinic Scotland's Canine Massage Clinic offers non-invasive remedial treatment designed to ease muscle pain

Central Scotland's Canine Massage Clinic offers Clinical Canine Massage. This is a vet-approved complementary therapy that uses Swedish, Deep Tissue and Sports Massage together with Myofascial Release and Advanced Canine Anatomy to produce a drug-free and holistic treatment designed to ease the pain of a muscular or soft tissue injury, promote rehabilitation, improve flexibility and mobiltiy, whil

e benefitting the overall health and well-being of your dog. Clinical Canine Massage is suitable for all types of dogs: sports, service and pets, it is especially beneficial for old dogs. Canine Massage Therapy also supports dogs with orthopaedic issues, like Hip Dysplasia, Luxating Patella and Arthritis, by improving the health and flexibility of muscles and tendons that have to work harder due to a joint weakness. Dogs hide their pain, they don't want to be seen as the week member of the pack, so keep an eye out for the subtle signs which can manifest as:
• Limping, unable to fully weight bear on one or more legs
• Having difficulty jumping on / off the sofa or into the car
• Character changes, grumpy with people or dogs
• Appearing to age overnight
• Problems getting up or lying down
• No longer keen to go for a walk
• Performance issues, eg dropping poles, lack of enthusiasm

What a fabulous day teaching the Beginners Guide to Canine Massage at Stirling Dog Behavioural Centre’s lovely new training facility. The dogs were amazing, quite a few were rescues who are now living their best lives, but all of them have the most wonderful dog parents who love their pups and will now also be supplying them with massages! 🥰 Happy day! 😊

Meet Focus, he's a regular at my at my clinic near Forfar (Finavon Dog Agility) since he lost a front leg to cancer. As you can see he's really lurving his massage today 🥰 Dogs can manage brilliantly on just 3 legs but it is not without great effort. Other areas of the body and limbs have to work a lot harder causing tightness, myofascial pain and trigger points resulting from the mis-alignment, a twist through the spin, over compensation on remaining limb. Yet they make it look easy that we might forget how hard they are working. Focus's mum had noticed that when he ran flat out he'd started only using his 2 opposite corner legs! So that unused leg got some extra attention today along with the lumber spine and he's back to using his legs more conventionally. ☺

If you want more information about one of my clinics then just get in touch.

Have you noticed that your dog's arthritis seems worse just now, or perhaps your own? Here is a great article by one of my colleagues explaining why that might be.

Sara Alan-Smith takes a closer look at arthritis, exploring if winter weather affects arthritic pain and how clinical canine massage can help

URGENT 🚨 INFORMATION FOR SAFETY

Due to the Red Weather warning from the government for high winds can we please remind everyone to check there fences before they let there dogs out into there gardens. Many dogs have escaped due to fallen fencing and if the winds are high your dog can quickly go into fear mode and take flight.

Also of the wind is as high as expected then there is a risk of small and tiny dogs 🐶 being swept up into the air, so please bewar of this.
I have a 2k dog myself and I’ve seen her be lifted in less winds than what is expected on Friday. 🐶

Another thing to be wary of is stuff being blown into your garden that may be unsafe for your dogs 🐶 so again a quick check outside before you let your dog out.
If you do go for a walk 🚶‍♀️ then we would advise you stay away from wooded areas for risk of fallen trees 🌳

Some of the vets in the area have cancelled non emergency operations and appointments on safety grounds but are still open for emergencies so please check with your vets social media on what there stand is on this crazy situation.

Please stay safe with your pets 🐾

Happy new year everyone. I saw these fabulous aboriginal sculptures at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. I absolutely love them and they have got me thinking a lot about origins. I found that the word ‘original' means to come from the source, our origins. Perhaps the word has gone full circle rather than seeking out a new and novel to be original is about going home, revisiting older ways. Our dogs are doing the best they can to live an original life and doing their best to teach us how to so as well. We need to listen to them more. Be more dog in 2025!

....and relax! I got finished up at 7.00 last night after a marathon of post holiday massages! Massage table has been put away and now it's time to enjoy the festive season. Hold all your loved ones close and treasure them (puppers and hoomans), and do your best with everyone else. Eat well, dream well and I'll see you again next year. Thank you for all your love, support and friendship. Best wishes to you all. 😘🎄⭐️
Post me pics of your furry sweethearts enjoying their Christmas!! ☺

A big thank you to the Lochaber & District Canine Society for inviting me up to Fort William for a Beginner’s Guide workshop. It was a fabulous day with lots of lovely dogs, with some dog swaps, and their caring hoomans learning how they can make their dog’s lives better. We had a little window of fair weather between the storms. I bet everyone is snoozing on their couches now! 🥰🐾🥱
