URGENT 🚨 INFORMATION FOR SAFETY

Due to the Red Weather warning from the government for high winds can we please remind everyone to check there fences before they let there dogs out into there gardens. Many dogs have escaped due to fallen fencing and if the winds are high your dog can quickly go into fear mode and take flight.

Also of the wind is as high as expected then there is a risk of small and tiny dogs 🐶 being swept up into the air, so please bewar of this.
I have a 2k dog myself and I’ve seen her be lifted in less winds than what is expected on Friday. 🐶

Another thing to be wary of is stuff being blown into your garden that may be unsafe for your dogs 🐶 so again a quick check outside before you let your dog out.
If you do go for a walk 🚶‍♀️ then we would advise you stay away from wooded areas for risk of fallen trees 🌳

Some of the vets in the area have cancelled non emergency operations and appointments on safety grounds but are still open for emergencies so please check with your vets social media on what there stand is on this crazy situation.

Please stay safe with your pets 🐾

Happy new year everyone. I saw these fabulous aboriginal sculptures at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. I absolutely love them and they have got me thinking a lot about origins. I found that the word ‘original' means to come from the source, our origins. Perhaps the word has gone full circle rather than seeking out a new and novel to be original is about going home, revisiting older ways. Our dogs are doing the best they can to live an original life and doing their best to teach us how to so as well. We need to listen to them more. Be more dog in 2025!

Hold all your loved ones close and treasure them (puppers and hoomans), and do your best with everyone else. Eat well, dream well and I'll see you again next year. Thank you for all your love, support and friendship. Best wishes to you all. 😘🎄⭐️

A big thank you to the Lochaber & District Canine Society for inviting me up to Fort William for a Beginner’s Guide workshop. It was a fabulous day with lots of lovely dogs, with some dog swaps, and their caring hoomans learning how they can make their dog’s lives better. We had a little window of fair weather between the storms. I bet everyone is snoozing on their couches now! 🥰🐾🥱

Mimi was in for another sniffy session. After some nourishing and supportive herbs we got down to some serious oils. She selected To***co essential oil and even wanted to eat some.

Did you know that the term ‘dog end’ of a cigarette comes from dogs eating them to help eliminate worms. We don’t think Mimi has that problem so we wondered if it reminded her of her previous racing owner/trainer. It can also help with anxiety and stress.

In the first photo she’s being supported by Neroli oil to help with any sadness or grief associated with that. Her mum reports that she has been a lot happier, more relaxed and settled since then. “There’s definitely been an emotional shift.”

You never know what your rescue dog has been through, but we can give them the support to find their own way to self healing. ♥️

I've had this lovely post from a client in the Scottish Sighthound Rescue group that I wanted to share. And I'd like to say that we have found Snipe's massage interval guide... When he starts to grumble at his little human sister - it's time for a massage! 😉

"I posted a while ago about Snipe and his painful front legs.

He's now been seeing Catriona Dickson for massage for about a month and he's a different dog. It's honestly like he's had a personality transplant - he's happier, less stiff, less grumpy and far more tolerant of [toddler child].

He comes for cuddles in the morning with her still on the bed too, and he can walk more than 15 minutes without limping. We're even scaling down his medication.

Anyways, I think it's nothing short of miraculous and having my boy back to closer to his old self is magical."

I’ve just had the absolute pleasure of teaching the Warm Up / Cool Down Massage workshop to the hard working folks and dogs of the Lake District Mountain Rescue Searchdogs and Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England. The landscape was just stunning. All the students took in loads of info and had to work really hard on the warm up routine! 😅 The dogs were all amazing too, you’ll be a very lucky person if you ever need to be found by one of these guys. 🥰 Thank you to Elly Whiteford, their training officer and fellow Canine Massage Guild therapist for inviting me down. And thank you Christyne for my lovely slate coaster! ☺️ An all round fab visit to the lakes!

Next workshops are the Beginners Guide near Dunblane on the 6th Oct and Fort William on the 19th Oct.

If your club or organisation would like to host an event then just give me a shout! 😉🐾

Ooft! Well that was a busy weekend. 😊 I’d been invited up to St Vigeans, Arbroath to teach a Beginner’s Guide to a lovely group of humans and their dogs. The calm in a room of full of dogs was beautiful. The dogs totally chilled and felt completely safe as their mums learned new techniques to help ease their aches and help them relax. Nice work folks! And there was a wee reunion throw down for a couple of JRT siblings. 🥰 I had a fabulous day too, thanks guys! And thank you Dream Dogs - dog training!

Next open workshops are 6 October near Dunblane and a special event in Fort William on the 19th October. Hopefully see you there! ☺️

I think it has poured down all day so what better way to spend the day than learning to massage your dog, properly! Thank you to the lovely humans who brought their gorgeous dog beings along for a super informative and fun day all the while developing a new skill! And dogs got to come too - just perfect! 🥰

And thank you Kinbuck Community Group for use of their fabulous hall! I’ll need to come along for pub night! 😊

This therapy is hugely supportive to orthopaedic conditions. If it is not already part of your pain managment plan then it is worth trying it out to see how much difference it can make to your dog's quality of life. ☺
