Pet visits are the perfect solution for anyone that needs a friendly face popping in and caring for their pet in their own home when they’re unable to be there.

❤️ Maybe you have a night out planned and are worried how your anxious pet may cope alone whilst you’re out?
❤️ Will your Pet need a toilet break and some play time?
❤️ Maybe you’re going on holiday and would prefer your pet to stay in their own home and have someone come in to play, feed, clean trays or hutches etc?

Whatever the situation we have a solution from 30 min visits to simply feed and clean their environment to stay and plays to give your pet some much needed company and stimulation.

So if you’re worrying about all the Christmas nights out and the impact they may have on your furry friends or a upcoming holiday where you’d prefer not to use a Cattery do not fear.

Night time Pet visit for my favourite Romanian Rescue Girlie, Luna and her kitty companions.

Unfortunately Fireworks 💥 had gotten her petrified and her anxiety was through the roof 😞 lots of cuddles, classic Fm, reassurance and her weighted blanket to soothe her.

Hopefully one day sense with prevail and the use of fireworks will be more controlled 😢

Skye wasn’t best pleased with the rain today but she had a good sniffing walk and even acquired some seeds from sniffing so much 🫣

Hello 👋 I’m Mel from Big Paws & Tiny Claws Pet services.

I offer tailored Dog walking and Pet care services In Hazel grove and surrounding areas within a 5 mile radius.

I offer tailored services meaning that there is no one size fits all.

Group dog walks can be great, but for many dogs these simply aren’t suitable and running around in a field with many dogs of different breeds, temperaments and play styles can be stressful and overwhelming. They also offer very little in terms of enrichment and mental stimulation.

For these reasons I also offer 1:1 and 2:1 walks, which allows me to give your dog the exercise and stimulation they need without causing unnecessary stress.

I’m fully insured, DBS checked and hold a diploma in dog walking and pet sitting and a diploma in canine behaviour.

I also offer Pet visits for puppies/cats and small pets, holiday care visits, puppy walks and play visits.

It’s Friday and the end of the first week getting to know these beautiful girls.

Today I felt we had built enough trust between the three of us to go off lead. And they did me proud 🙌❤️

Brilliant recall from both mother and daughter.

I think we can now officially call each other friends 😁

A lovely big walk through Etherow country park followed by lunch in the for the pups today.

Bespoke dog walking isn’t just about letting dogs run crazy on a field for an hour, it’s about enrichment, mental stimulation as well as physical activity.

It’s really important to change up walks so the smells are new and exciting for the dogs.

Not only is sniffing a great mental workout, sniffing activates something called the Seeking System portion of a dog’s brain - which is also the portion of the brain responsible for releasing dopamine, the “feel good” chemical.

An increase in dopamine can boost mood, motivation, and attention, and helps regulate learning and emotional responses.

In addition to reducing stress, studies have shown that sniffing can improve a dog’s mood and make them more optimistic.

Getting to know each other visits for nevous dogs

Today we took Romanian Rescue Luna’s getting to know each visits to the next stage. Up until now we’ve met outside the house on walks and only entered the house after those walks and with her owners present. Today I entered Luna’s home without mum and dad being home. We took things slowly and at Luna’s pace. We will do more of these visits until Luna is fully happy with me coming in and spending time with her alone. #romanianrescue #lurcher #settlevisits #calmness

Master dog trainer Elilah. Available for basic training bookings 😂 Seriously though, please do not underestimate how hard it can be having a puppy and a toddler together. If you’ve got these ideas of them snuggling together in peace and harmony then scrap that idea. (And yes I had those very thoughts) Think jealously on the toddlers part, sometimes being mean to puppy and not to mention the puppy mouthing and pin nails that will take lots of training to get under control. To Help Elilah to feel involved with Teddy and aid in reducing the jealousy of his arrival I let her get involved with aspects of his care for example brushing his teeth and training him. This creates moments of peace, helps Elilah to bond with him in a positive way and stimulates Teddy’s intelligent brain at the same time. Win win 🥇
