By tomorrow, once Naturaw arrives we’ll be back to normal after the Christmas break…phew!!!

There’s nothing better in my world than empty freezers! It reminds me how lucky the doggies are to have wonderfully, nutritional breakfast and teas!

It also give us a chance to defrost them! 😂

Deliveries have come thick and fast the last two days….more raw, more toys, new treats, more natural treats……it’s like Christmas never happened! 😂

Saturday is the last day of sale items. Once there gone there gone! What’s left will be distributed to animal rescues so they can raise funds.

On days like today we ALL need a good coat on! We’ve a shop full of warm coats and fleeces. Something for everyone. 👣 🐾👣...

How to use:
Open the Pupsicle by unscrewing the two halves, drop in a treat, and give it to your dog. It's as simple as that!

❄️ Winter Weather Guidance ❄️

Morning! I’ve seen lots of you out and about doing snowy walks with your dogs today ......that got me to thinking, do people know how to look after dogs feet in the winter months?

Apologies if the following advice is second nature to some of you, but with so many new puppies around this year I think it’s worth reiterating to all.

Washing and caring for dogs paws:

The winter months can be really harsh on our best pals paws, they are either walking on wet surfaces, or frozen grass or snowy paths! So many different surfaces and different weather conditions. But what are they really walking on? For the most part is just the same old dirty paths they’ve always walked on, but with the ice comes the gritters!
Rock salt not only dries out dogs pads and potentially could cause them to split, but is also a horrible irritant when licked by your dogs, and this can cause terrible tummy issues, toxic for some.

Washing dogs paws:

Simple really but at times forgotten because we get busy....When you’ve been for a walk be ready when you get home to do the following:
Have a small tub of warm water ready with a small dash of dog shampoo mixed in. Take each paw in turn and move around the bowl, using your fingers to clean between each pad. After washing use a soft towel to dry each pad. Checking as you go to make sure they are clean and healthy. If you notice redness or any swelling then some collodial silver cream would work it’s magic here. If you just notice how dry they are a little Coconut oil, Vaseline or vitamin E cream works wonders massaged in. There are plenty of products on the market that are great but good old Coconut oil is sufficient. This can work as a barrier also, so always a good idea to rub into the pads before a walk (but we’re busy people so do if you have time)

Remember, even if you can't see any salt, it may still be there, so be sure to bathe their paws each time.

Just find a little time each day to check those little tootsies, they all love a good foot rub!

Today was my first day back after a little mini break over the New Year. The sale was already on and we didn’t have much left……soooooo having checked how much I’ve ordered to arrive next week…..I thought I’d better make a bit more room!

So today I’ve walked round with my little red pen and put more items on the sale table. There are soooo many bargains!

Harness from £4

And today I’ve popped in the MudBusters at half price. We’ve had this range for a few years…I fancy a change!

The sale will run until Saturday 11th Jan. Then it will all be boxed up and sent to the rescues we support.

Lily, Lacy and I are back in tomorrow 9-5pm

The freezers are looking a little light, deliveries start in volume next week! If you have already preordered those are held safety for you.

As 2024 draws to close I just wanted a minute to reflect on another busy year.

Back in 2017 when I opened the store I never envisaged the level of support my little store would receive, every single day we have visits from new customers as our reputation continues to grow.

It’s grows because I have a wonderful team, front of house in Chrissie our store manager, with Katie, Lily and Lacy working so hard to keep the store looking fabulous and behind the scenes with Nick (and her mum) and her spectacular windows and design work. I’d be lost without them all.

We continue to grow because we have the best customers in the world. They care about us, we’re family….. A huge Maggies Family! And they make sure they tell everyone they meet about us! 😂 and of course we hope you know how much we love you all and especially your four legged family members 🐾❤️🐾

This year we’ve lost more than a few of our oldies, some left us earlier than we would of liked but in all cases they had the best of care from their mums and dads right till the end. RIP to all our loved ones 🌈 you will be missed

This year brought lots of new little puppies, all ready loved beyond words, and starting their journeys by visiting us for the essentials and knowledge.

So as we move into 2025 and make pledges of New Year changes….here’s mine, same as always really….

I promise I’ll always move heaven and earth to support you all. I won’t raise my prices unless I have no choice, money will NEVER be my driver. I will continue to find the best in what the animal world has to offer in the natural, holistic field. I’ll continue to work with some of the best independent companies like Pawsome Suits, Herbal pet supplies and Naturaw all are unrivalled in their space.

Lastly I want to wish you all a Happy New Year. I hope as you move into 2025 the challenges you have had fall by the wayside and brighter days follow and if your 2024 has been good, then please pay it forward where you can. Being kind and considerate takes absolutely nothing, just a good heart.

(For those not sure…we open back up again at 9am on Thursday)

The Christmas sale table got a hammering yesterday! But we’ve still enough for today, so some excellent bargains to be had

Starting Monday (or today if I can find time) I’ve been in our huge stockroom and had a sort out, mainly so I can make room for the new stock I’ve ordered! But to make room means I’ve decided to do a “Maggie’s SALE”

That’s it folks…..It’s a wrap!

Our 2024 Christmas Season has now come to an end….

It’s been a busy one! But you showed up and supported us like you always do. This was our 8th Christmas! Hasn’t the time flown by?

Tomorrow enjoy the time with your families, that time is so precious. Try and find a little time to play with your animals. Homes are busy over Christmas but they love that one to one time to play with their new toys….find a moment. Those are memories for the future ❤️🐾❤️

We are back at the store on Friday 10am - 4pm (I’ve managed to get a Naturaw delivery! - I know! I work miracles!)

But tonight Santa Paws 🐾 (aka Shadow!) is going to be busy…..he’s dressed and ready!

So from all the Maggie’s ladies…Alison, Chrissie, Lily, Katie, Nick and Lacy, we hope you have a wonderful Christmas break.

The shops been open since 8:30 and I didn’t think about how busy we’d get so didn’t post before I’d left home! You’d think I’d have learnt by now wouldn’t you? 😂

Oh well…..as I type I’ve 2 festive boxes left and 6 sausage snowmen so if you wanting these ….run don’t walk! 😂

And it takes so much planning to bring to life our Christmas Store 🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻 The transformation of the store takes place when we’re closed! It’s MAGIC! The window, the lights, the new toys and of course our famous Maggies Christmas Boxes….so much to see! ✨ This time next week my store will be will have everything you could possibly want for your family animals…..Christmas 🎄 is what we do best! Something different today…… A day in the life of a pet store owner! Rescue clearly is in my blood! (Few swear words in the video…..sorry!) I’ve saved this frog 🐸 (well it could be the same frog) four times now. He’s never injured even though Tuc carries him in his mouth over the fence and into our garden! Luckily I’ve been in every time to save him! If he comes a fifth time I may have to pop him in the van and move him to another county! 😂 * checked him all over. Not a single puncture wound and he jumped out of my hands into a neighbours garden!

When you’re watching the match but every time the commentator says Declan all you do is add “Ricebone” 🤣
