🐕Puppy Grooms🐩

Most puppies should have their first groom after they’ve had their second round of vaccinations, no later than 14 weeks. At this stage in their development they’re still trusting and willing to let strangers handle them. They will also quickly acclimatise to strange noises and sensations.

At home get your puppy familiar with being touched everywhere. Pick up their feet and gently play with their toes, hold their tails and tickle their ears.

🛁The more your puppy is familiar with being touched the easier the first groom will be. Many people wait until the puppy is over 6 months for their first groom however this can be too late. The sooner you familiarise them with being groomed the happier your puppy will be! 🐾

Ronnie after his full groom… he was such a dream to groom 🐾💙🩵💙

Ralph came in for his first groom this week at just 5 months old 🩷💙 He loved the bath and his clip, he even tolerated the dryer really well except his face/ears. So we stopped and he got to dry off naturally. We will always be led by your dogs cues and will choose comfort over vanity EVERY SINGLE TIME. We will work on Ralph's tolerance a little more each time he comes in, but this time he's leaving full of treats, with good memories and a lot less floof!

4 baths and deshreds the groomers was in a sorry state 😭 BUT WHAT A TRANSFORMATION 🫧🫧🫧🛁🛁🐾🐾🐾

Barney is one of our regulars at Salthouse Pet Boarding & Freedom Parks Today he had his first end of stay groom with corri and just look at that transformation 😍 #cavapoo #doggrooming

From ideas to mood boards to Reality…. The progress so far at salthouse’s new groomers Groomies & Zoomies 😍😍 the plaster is coming next week and from there we expect this building to really start taking shape. The groomers will boost the following 🐾 A huge waiting room with both human and pet sofas. A shopping area for those at home accessories and some cute doggy clothes. And of course a hot drinks machine. 🐾 Customer toilets 🐾 air con & heating 🐾 an instagram photo area including props for all those before & after shots. 🐾 in the back room 4 separate groom rooms to allow for complete calm and tranquility while the groom is happenin, no distractions. Brilliant for reactive or nervous dogs. Also great for those with allergies as dog hair Is confined to the back and in a room making drop of and pick ups easier 🐾 Custom made XL waiting crates with the comfiest cushions and over course toys to Sit Pretty and wait for there humans. I am so excited to show you all the finished build. An hope some of you and your pups will even join us in an open evening in February for both the groomers and the kennels 🐾🐾🐾
