2 of the 4 adult musks rehomed 🙂
For sale £150 ono (£130 to anyone from here)
No glass top unfortunately.
5ft x 3ft coffee table style aquarium. I would say a perfect home for a Musk or a group (if heavily planted) Or box/wood turtles.
Bigger turtles will climb out
Cheers
Ben
Love this guy🥵
Little care guide for Snapping Turtles. A lot of information to take in but it’ll stick in your head if you are researching for getting one. Seriously consider and make sure you can provide a home for 60-100 years 😬
Still have 3 female Adult musk turtles & 1 juvenile for rehoming 🙂
Godzilla into his winter accommodation was clearly glad to see me after disturbing him 😂
Another Female adult musk Rehomed earlier 🙂
Sorry for not replying to everyone tonight it’s been manic for me with lockdown being put in place from tomorrow and trying get everything done in one night.
Here are the 2 little musks I took in that Jelly Exotics transferred to me. In their new home from today 🙂 lovely little pair!
Cheers
Ben 🙂
If I absolutely need to. have I got anybody here who’d be able to temporarily look after Arna ? Just until I have built something for the other turtles to go outside In May, she can stay inside with me in the new year. just with the space etc I’m struggling with her atm as she has a 6.6ft tank to herself and won’t allow any tank mates 😂 & it’s wrong time of year to let turtles outside.
She’s around 10 inches, 20 if you include the neck 😂.
Loves to bury in the sand.
Loves a back scratch just when she starts to turn around note that’s enough 😂
Wont allow any tank mates she would kill them.
Filtration has to cycle the volume of water in tank 3/4 times an hour.
She will eat anything you give her.
Plants won’t survive either.
Small fish have a good chance of survival as soft shells vision isn’t the best
Absolutely only a temporary situation, I love her to bits just need to sort things out would much rather her be in a 5/6 ft tank until new year than me having to compromise and put her in a 3/4ft tank.
All 3 Map Turtles and Terry my first rescue chilling in basking area at Pablito El Imparable’s plate 🙂
Right people, I’m not really sure how to make this post. Since I’ve started I’ve been honest with people all the way.
I have to stop for now! I’ve grown more than I ever expected and I don’t have the room at the moment. As it stands I will have to close my doors as I have had an increase in pressure in personal life & I’ve got to cut the amount of set ups down. If it’s an emergency I can still help but will advise / Refer people to go to the people I trust! This is by no means the end of ST Turtle Rescue, but will be on hold until I can upgrade my facilities for the high intake of turtles I’ve been receiving. Being a Tennant I am limited to what I can do at the minute.
All turtles I have apart from the Razorback, Alligator Snappers and Soft shell will be for rehoming. No fees apply but charge for fuel will be required as collection is no longer viable.
- 3 Juvenile Musks
- 4 Adult Musks
I will still be active on this page and will keep updated on a page favourite the soft shell.
Thank you for understanding.
Ben
Just a normal evening here 😂
One of the 4 adult musks already in a time out box 🤭 just behave 🤨.
Here’s a photo of a baby common and razorback musk I let go to a loving home around a month ago 🙂 look how adorable they look 😍
Pablito El Imparable has today done me a massive favour in taking 3 large map turtles off me. His facilities are incredible! And is a license holder for taking your sliders in
Almost outgrown their feeding tub 😬
4 adult musk turtles taken in and 2 map turtles taken in today.
RANT TIME:
When this turtle was picked up from me it was promised to be in an indoor pond and outdoor pond for summer. And thank you for alerting me to this! The turtle has been listed for a profit which makes me sick.
I partly blame myself when things like this happens because I allow the turtles to go😕.
I’m sorry everyone,
Because of this collection from me (Home address) for rehoming is no longer something I will provide as an option. From now onwards all turtles will be bought to you personally by myself to ensure the turtles are getting the best homes and will not be a subject to this again! Unfortunately that means fuel costs will need to be covered but it’s the only way I can think of to make sure this doesn’t happen again.
I have requested for the female reeves to be bought back to me but other than that it’s out of my control.
I’m sorry,
Regards,
Ben
Update.
Currently have in:
3x Musk Turtles
1x Map Turtle
If any of you are interested in any turtles, send me proof of your set up 🙂
Female Reeves rehomed! She’s gonna be spoilt to an outdoor pond during summer 🙂 and Indoor pond during winter 🙂
Female Reeves Turtle still available to be Rehomed. She’s adorable and will greet you when you walk into the room. Around 10 inches this girl is so will need a fairly big tank!
(Lighting when the aquarium lights are off makes the tank look cloudy)
Juvenile musk that was taken in on the 10th October is now ready to be rehomed.
Very active and is eating well. Does have markings from no uvb but with uvb provided when he grows the marks will shred off.
Proof of set up required as always.
Day 3 of antibiotic shots for the map turtle and he’s responding very well. Now reacts to my hand being in front of him 🙂 onwards and upwards
Pair of young musks taken in yesterday, both are actively moving and eating but once again they havent been treated to uvb lighting.
Both will be up for rehoming soon as long as proof of set up and UVB lighting proof is sent to me!
Cheers
Ben
Map Turtle received yesterday.
Healthy and active just another case of UVB lighting. I can’t stress how important uvb lights are for turtles and reptiles!
Will be working with this map for a couple of weeks then will be potentially be up for rehoming. Roughly around 7 inches so set up will have to be 100 Gallons +. During summer months you can put your map in a pond but once the temps drop again I would advise to be bring maps in.
Cheers
Ben
Adult Musk Turtle taken in from Jelly Exotics who transferred them to me.
On inspection I can see is a little underweight which at a guess is from being housed with a larger map turtle and the map eating all food before it drops down.
Doesn’t seem as though there has been any UVB lighting ever given which is heavily showing on the shell but the shell is very solid.
Easily rectified given the correct home. This musk will not be Rehomed with the map turtle (photos coming up).
Cheers
Ben
4 turtles taken in earlier from Jelly Exotics. Will post pictures later on today after I’ve assessed them all. Thank you to the team at Jellys for the equipment donations!
Photos coming up later.
UPDATE:
Vet visit today and the vet has decided to treat for pneumonia. Trail course of 3 days antibiotics and try to see improvement.
Vet appointment tomorrow for the Map Turtle. I will keep you all posted on what the verdict is regarding him. With any luck it’s a case of antibiotics and job done 🙂
Forever curious
Keeping turtles with fish is possible but it does depend on the turtle.
I keep 4 Oscars that are growing out with my Razorback. He does show curiosity but the volume of water makes it easy for fish to stay away from him.
Another morning basker to warm himself up for the day 🙂
Morning basker, every morning when the timer turns the light on she’s basking away while it’s still quiet. Just because you don’t see your turtle basking doesn’t mean it doesn’t bask. Always give your turtle a basking area
Stunning Common x Razorback musk hybrid taken in today, thank you Ursula for the equipment 🙂
Abit of DIY today for my Razorback Musk, Basking area (put the lamps on after photo 🤦🏻♂️). Allowed me to fill the tank more for my Oscars which are currently growing out.
Basic build.
Male Reeves Rehomed today gone to a loving family that absolutely adore him 🙂
Male and female reeves turtles taken in today, thank you for the equipment donation David! It helps me massively !
The smaller one out of the two is Sheldon, Male
Larger one is Sherman, Female
A massive improvement to say the least here. A vet will still be required as he is still gasping and stretching his neck out for air but after raising the temp and giving fresh water every day he is no longer lethargic.
EDIT: this is a temporary hospital set up as I don’t want him mixing with other turtles until he is clear
No further updates to give as of yet. So here’s a video of Arna 🙂
