Carpalla alpacas as a breeder of quality alpacas has the ethos of trying to do the best for our animals and the people involved in their care.
With this in mind we decided that numbers were getting too high. We have therefore embarked on a reduction in numbers while retaining our very best breeding females.
These animals can now have a less crowded,dry bed during wet weather and more space at the feed troughs.
We still have 20 cria due this summer so will have plenty to keep us busy.
I'd like to thank those who have purchased from us recently, some of these girls were very hard to let go but we know they have gone to good homes.
Selling to reduce a herd is really tricky as inevitably some favourite animals must move on.
Our fields now are not quite as full but the remaining animals should be happier.
We have new boys for these elite retained girls so we should make faster progress in our herd going forward.
Exciting times for us to push on with our breeding program.
