This has been my view for the past week. Finally got Covid 😷 and today finally starting to feel more normal.

Thank you to all my clients who have been flexible and understanding. Being self employed and I'll is hard as you loose out on so much. Not just flow and schedules but financially. Due to these reasons I've taken the decision to cancel my week off to got to trail camp next week in north wales to catch up with those I've moved and my finances. (Also to conserve my energy).

But how did laylah cope with being my sick buddy? Amazing! I am so thankful to have a dog who can be on adventures with us, but equally happy to chill for days at a time. If I tried to potter too much she would come and round me up to sit down again. She did a lot of cuddling 🥰

I guess the moral of the story is listen to your body (and your dog), but also promote the ability to rest in your dog to give you the flexibility for a few days if anything happens.

Thank you to Lauren for leading a super Social Club walk at Penselwood this afternoon 🙏 (Especially as I'm laid up in bed ill 🤒)

Betty, Woody, and Albert all were super. Building steadiness, and for Albert (the youngest member) confidence around novel dogs.

I get asked a lot about food consumption and calorie intake in dogs. Now Laylah is 8 I finally have to be mindful of how much she eats, she's never really been a dog to put weight on. So her Free Work session this afternoon was scent based 👃 with a touch of food 😋

All these items had smell on them from previous dogs over the past few sessions. There was a rogue rabbits ear down 🐇 and she had a chew down that was hers from the other day. She still explored all the stations thoroughly and had a meaningful experience. Food can enhance an experience (or poison it) but doesn't have to be the be all and end all.

So if you have a dog who isn't foodie, or is on a calorie controlled diet, then set it up with minimal or none and see what they do. It's lovely 🥰

What a stunner of a day 🥰
It's been working dog central with 2 collies, one spaniel, one lab, and a ouppy podenco.

Little Izzie is working with me on lead walking. She's a big puller. But why am I not using standard techniques? Her pulling is due to her lack of confidence in the environment so we need to start at the basics first to build this up and lead walking will follow.

Novel people are hard for Izzie, amazingly with the support of free work she came in and asked for contact, and even started to lie down for a chew ☺️

Such a gorgeous start to our journey of support for her ❤️

🌟 New team member announcement 🌟

I am delighted yo announce Lauren is joining the Eleanor Rose Dog Training team on a part-time basis.

Lauren is an ex human physio, experienced dog handler, and has support her dogs amazingly with their own individual needs. She's got a keen eye for functional movement and has great instincts in hoe best to support dogs.

She's supported dogs in rescue centres and even run her won reactivity group walks with great success.

Lauren will be leading my Penselwood Social Club Walks. You and your dogs will be great hands.
