🐶 Dog Fosterers Needed 🐶
(photo of the lovely Tyson for attention - He still needs a permanent home!)

Fosterers play a vital role by providing a temporary home for dogs that are in our care, either during rehabilitation or whilst they are waiting for a suitable permanent home to be found.
**We are specifically looking for fosterers that live within a 15/20 minute drive of Brent Knoll Animal Centre (TA9 4BL) ** This is due to RSPCA animals requiring to only see our consulting vets for routine and any emergency medical issues, and be required to visit the Animal Centre for regular check ups/ weight checks etc.

Any other dogs in the home must already be neutered and up to date with vaccinations of which will need to be verified with a vet reference. Rescue animals are often vulnerable and so we must do our very best to protect them including from disease.

Successful applicants will be given a tour of the animal centre and invited to a coffee and chat session with members of the team. This is to discuss what fostering means and the variations of it and to assess what type of fostering will suit each person/family before officially signing up!

** GREAT NEWS **
Our Luna is well-settled now in her forever-home!

Little Luna 🌼, a 1 year and 3 months old pug, finds herself in search of a forever home due to changes in her owner's circumstances. Despite her initial shyness outdoors, Luna, under the care of our experienced foster carers, has blossomed into an affectionate and clever companion. She may bark at other dogs during walks, and will bark at dogs visiting inside her home but not people. She's a playful soul who enjoys her walks and has excellent recall.

However, Luna's excitement can sometimes come across as aggression, especially when around other dogs, but with a little guidance, she'll learn to channel her enthusiasm positively. Though she may display bossy behaviour toward other dogs, Luna is not aggressive and simply craves human attention. Therefore, she would thrive as the sole pet in a loving household.

Could you be the one to offer Luna her forever home? 🏡💕

Swift was in our care for sometime, and we are all thrilled to see a picture of her looking as beautiful as ever, and hearing how she is getting on in her home. 💙

'Hi there,

I thought I would write with an update about Swift whose name is now Willow. She has settled well, after a couple of days of hiding she came out and made herself at home. She is eating very well and loves chasing a ball and playing or racing up and down the corridor or sitting with me on the sofa. I even get little kisses! She loves dark places and I could
not find her one day and after searching high and low discovered a tail sticking out of a roll of rug standing upright by a cupboard. She had
climbed inside and gone to sleep. She is very sweet and affectionate and likes to talk to me. I already adore her!'

"Please notice us!" 🖤 Millie and Rita are a pair of mature ladies who have been in our care since July, awaiting their chance at a fresh start.

Affectionately known as 'The Duo' as they go everywhere together, we think they're sadly being overlooked because of their age. All they want is somewhere quiet together to snooze away their retirement. Meet them 👉 https://bit.ly/3TTY1Qr

Some wonderful news to get 2024 off to a great start! 🎉 Who remembers the elegant Mischka? Well after we posted her adoption appeal on social media a few weeks ago, she was spotted by a new family and went off to join them this week!

Now she can enjoy this New Year and every one that comes after in a safe and loving home. 🏡

How are those New Year's Resolutions going? 👀 Here's one that's easy to keep...get your cat microchipped!

With the law changing this Summer, as of 10 June it will be compulsory in England for all owned cats over the age of 20 weeks to be microchipped. Don't forget it's up to you to update those details if you move house or change your contact details. ⚠

Don't risk it! Get it sorted this

*Adoption Update* 😍

We have an adorable update from recently adopted piggies Wendy & Angela!

''Good Afternoon! Just thought you may like an update on Wendy and Angela! They have settled in really well, they have had a hair cut and a bath and were both very good . They have now joined my other two girls Fifi and Trixie and they all get on well. Their are munching their way through a ton of salad and having lots of zoomies in there big run. Will update again soon hopefully from the garden when the weather improves!!''

We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to rabbit/piggy fosterer Ali V who looked after these girls during their RSPCA stay and helped them gain in confidence. 🤩

As we start 2024 and welcome new followers, we'd like to take the opportunity to re-introduce ourselves.

The PDWRA, established in 1973, has been dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming pugs in need for 50 years.

Our mission has remained constant throughout the years, and we rely solely on donations and volunteer work to keep our cause alive.

If you are looking to apply to adopt a pug from us, we will be reopening our adoption applications from today!
