Rokie has bitten his owner and was starting to show signs of aggression towards the kids. Even tried to bite me once, but it didn't work out for him.

How to help your dog overcome its fear of fireworks

To help the dog overcome its fear of fireworks, the owner can play a fireworks/stopshot CD in the background. It begins barely audible and continues at this low volume for a day or two.The volume is then gradually increased. Again, it is left on all day and possibly all night. The dog eats, sleeps, and receives attention and treats as usual. Eventually, the owner reaches a point where the dog is aware of the sounds but does not cower under the sofa because it is so quiet. Leave the stereo at this volume until you are certain the dog is no longer bothered by the noise. The owner can then turn it up slightly more, and so on. Noise CDs work well with dogs that dread fireworks night. The owner has all year to practise and gradually increase the dog's exposure to the fringe and cracks that usually send him running for the hills.
