Welcome to the lovely Rosie, GSD X Lab β₯οΈ
The lovely Leo (Golden Cocker) joined us this morning. I was contacted by Leo's owners as poor Leo started exhibiting fear based reactivity to dogs after being attacked on a walk by another dog. Leo has had several trainers, some of whom, his owners report, made the issues worse. He also has poor recall and has bolted on a walk. Today, we started with a gentle, short lead walk with some easy going dogs (Izzy, SS & the cockerpoo girls, Cody & Nellie). Leo responded very well to the girls and also seemed totally relaxed when unknown off lead dogs approached him. We worked on recall on a long line. Note in the video how we "hold the command" getting Leo to wait until "released" from the command. This is especially important in training to avoid a viscous cycle of negative behaviour patterns. Well done Leo ππ«ΆπΎ
Judging by Elsa's fluff, it's a bit windy today!! π¨π¨
