Happy New Year to all my old, new, regular and returning clients and their pets/animals, as well as all the 'likers' and 'followers' of my page.
As most of you know, 2023 has not been the easiest of years due to my ankle injury and then subsequent operation 🦶 with the long recovery, which meant I sadly lost a lot of clients😢. But I'm improving by the week, still walking slowly and still in pain but I'm getting there and my diary is now fully OPEN from 27 Feb onwards so if you have any plans to go away next year or have any particular dates in mind then please don't hesitate to contact me 😊. *I do get booked up quickly*

Positive update post 😊. I am now out of my moon boot completely and wearing shoes / walking boots full time now, which feels very strange after 2.5 years of wearing the moon boot! My walks with Bracken and Mabel are still slow as I still have my crutch and my ankle is still painful but at least I am getting out and about and I’m able to go a little bit further every week 🚶‍♀️I’m just taking paracetamol instead of the morphine as well.
My diary is now fully OPEN from 27 February so if you have any plans to go away next year or have any particular dates in mind then please don’t hesitate to contact me. I am currently FULL; all of Jan until 25 Feb, 8 - 9 March, 15 - 24 March, 29 - 31 March, 01 - 09 May, 24 June - 05 July, 26 July - 10 Aug, 24 - 31 Aug and 20 Dec - 05 Jan 2025. I do have a cancellation list so don’t hesitate to contact me and I’ll see what wiggle room I can find. I do get booked up quickly so please try to give me as much notice as possible, if possible.

Hello folks. I just want to say a HUGE Thank You to all my old, new, regular and returning clients as well as all my ‘likers’ and ‘followers’ on my page for all your love and support shown to me over the last 2.5 years due to my ankle injury, it’s been much appreciated 😊
I am now on the road to recovery after my operation thanks to my fantastic physiotherapist - she knows who she is! - and I’m able to get out and about daily on gentle short walks wearing my walking boots instead of my horrible moon boot, at the moment I can’t go far but at least I’m out and about in the company of Bracken and Mabel - the best incentive ever🐾.
I currently have availability from 19 February onwards so if you have any plans to go away next year and have any particular dates in mind then please don’t hesitate to contact me, I do get booked up quickly. I am currently FULL; 01 - 09 February, 12 - 16 February, 01 - 10 Aug and 20 Dec - 05 Jan 2025.

Seriously considering 'upgrading' to the king size bed in the spare room💤. Not much room for Bracken and Mabel (and me!) in my double bed. I have to (try) and get into bed before they do otherwise I've got no chance! Wouldn't change them for the world though 😂🐾

Achievement of the week for me😊. I know its not far for everyone else but it's a long way (for me at the moment at least!). Definitely my longest walk so far 😊
The House Sitting Team and I have just been down Back Lane and through Finch Foundry; with walking boots instead of my horrible moon boot. I wasn't planning on going as far but I got to Finch Foundry - National Trust and decided to give it a go and enjoy all the autumn colours. 🐾

Positive update for you all😊. Almost four months after my ankle operation🦶, my physiotherapist has finally given me the green light to start wearing ‘normal’ boots/shoes again (instead of my horrible moon boot) scary stuff as got to learn to walk properly again🤦‍♀️ , build up my confidence and my fitness - she has also told me I can (slowly) start getting back to work, but not walk too far or do too much. Hopefully I’ll still have a few loyal clients lurking around 🤞.
So, due to family holidays and previous client bookings my diary will be open from 19 February 2024.
I stay in the clients home with their pets/animals while they are away giving them peace of mind their home is being looked after as much as their pets. Week 12 (3 months) since my operation. Positive post for everyone 😊.
Had another intensive physio session on Tuesday - I can now do stairs and get out and about (gently) but not walk too far. As the physio says, yes I can walk but I have to remember that I have to be able to get back again! I have to practice doing stairs or steps daily with my crutch until I see her again.
I had an appointment with my consultant this morning; ankle xrayed again, according to consultant everything is looking great and has healed really well, so I must be reasonably healthy 😊. He’s finally given me the green light to get out and about and do what I like when I like and just build up my confidence walking and my fitness as well and gradually get used to not wearing the boot. He’s also said that he doesn’t need to see me again unless anything goes drastically wrong which is great news😊🐾.
I’m hoping to restart my House Sitting mid February, just to give myself a bit more time to get my confidence back and get walking again.
100% fingers crossed 🤞that I may still have a loyal client or two around 🤞.

Sorry folks, another brief - probably boring - update for you all😊🐾
Week 11 since my ankle surgery🦶.
I had another intensive physio session @ lunchtime today. She says I’m doing amazingly well (not blowing my own trumpet - much) but according to her, having a few goals to reach is the best thing I can do - you know who you are people in November and December?!🐾.
I can now walk properly using the frame, I can now get in and out of the shower - with a bit of thought 💭, which leg do I use first 🤔 I suppose normally you don’t really think about it. Plus I’ve now started using crutches again. I’m now completely knackered after an hour of learning to walk again using crutches (or should I say just the one)😴💤. My next challenge will be doing stairs.
I’m determined to get back to my little House Sitting business - and my own dogs - eventually I’ve got too much to do to sit around being idle.

Week 10 since my operation update; - Tiny amount of progress being made 🤞. On Tuesday this week I finally, finally had a visit from the Physio - first time I’ve seen a physio since I was discharged from hospital on 23 July! She wasn’t at all happy as said I should have seen someone weeks ago 🤦‍♀️😢. She poked and prodded my ankle 😱, ouchy ouch 😓. Told me to increase my painkillers as not taking enough morphine or paracetamol 💊. Then got me standing upright with my frame; bullied me (nicely!) into putting my left foot forward and then doing a little ‘baby step’ with my right foot (half a foot length, if that makes sense) to catch up.
It’s the first time I’ve been weight bearing since before my operation so took a few minutes to get my coordination back 😣. I’ve got to do my baby steps all the time now until Physio comes back on Tuesday. Basically I’ve got to learn to walk again🚶‍♀️- scary stuff . I’ve got a couple of things - yes they DO involve dogs 🐾I have to do in November so I’m using those as my goal.

Brief update for you all. Two months today since my operation. 19 July was ‘ankle put back together’ day. I’m still in alot of pain, still got a moon boot on, still hopping around using a frame (not safe on crutches!), still can’t weight bear fully on my ankle (Consultants orders), banned from doing stairs for the foreseeable 😢😢.
Hoping to be able to get moving more in the next few weeks as looking forward to getting back to some sort of ‘normality’ with my clients and their animals in the not too distant future 🤞as missing them like mad.

Hi all. . . Apparently the new summer is September. .so ahead of the heatwave just a gentle reminder for all owners of furry babies.
Pavements and hot cars are not good for pups.
If you can’t put your bare feet on the pavement think of those little paw pads. Also, if you can’t sit in your car without the air-con neither than can your pup.
Enjoy the sunshine everyone. ☀️☀️☀️

I'm missing my clients and their animals SO much 😢. Not used to sitting around being idle. With love from all of us at The House Sitting Team x🐾
