Molly would like to let everyone know that a bin has been placed in the middle of the sensory field to help make things a bit easier for disposing of the doggie waste that seems to have been overlooked recently

Lots of owners have been commenting about the lack of 💩 pickups in the last few weeks so we hope by adding a bin this might help !!!

Mark and I walked the entire playground field today following all the pathways and seating areas and thankfully only picked up two
Where as poor Sam who was checking the sensory field with Molly found loads

We have some new bag holders on order and we will get a few more bins in place
When finances allow we’ll get more cameras in place
Other options include taking away seating, and Cutting all the grass flat but I really don’t want to that because it’s a minority of people who are spoiling it for everyone Else.

We are always very grateful to those who do their bit to help Keep the fields 💩 and litter free. X

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF HIRE
By booking the field, you are agreeing to and accepting all the terms and conditions of use outlined on the website, via emails and displayed on notices at the field. Please ensure you have checked that the facilities are suitable for your specific requirements. The fence height is 1.8m (6FT) the surrounding area is farmland which has agricultural vehicles working on them from time to time.
There is an access lane and public footpath to nearby facilities which runs down one side of the field separated by hedged fence.

We recommend that you have public liability insurance – often this is included in your home/pet insurance or can be purchased from Dogs Trust.

Whilst the field is fenced, we cannot ensure absolute security for every dog. We advise that you visit in advance to assess the suitability for your dog(s).
We cannot be held responsible should your dog escape or any consequence caused if your dog were to escape.

Users must not bring to the field any dog that appears unwell, dogs who have a cough, have sickness or diarrhoea, have been in contact with an infected animal, have any undiagnosed medical conditions or are known to have an infectious disease.

Puppies are welcome following their complete course of vaccinations.
The fields are only open to fully up to date vaccinated/titre tested dogs and dogs who Happy Hounds of Newport have cleared to attend. Please ensure your dog is up to date with worming and parasitic treatment. This is to safeguard the health and welfare of all users of the field

Persons under the age of 18 must be always accompanied by an adult. Users must always keep dogs and children in sight. Your dog should not be left unattended or tied up at any time.

Banned Breeds and the Dangerous Dogs Act including XL Bullies and Type Dogs - you can check if this is applicable to you by visiting the following government website and this will also confirm your requirements as an owner https://www.gov.uk/guidance/prepare-for-the-ban-on-xl-bully-dogs.

Entering and Leaving the Field

Users agree not to arrive early and to leave the site promptly at the end of their session, to reduce the chance of overlap with the next user who may have a nervous or reactive dog.

We are permitting one car into each field. If you are sharing a field, additional cars must be parked in the parking area.

No dogs (of all breeds and types) are to be allowed off lead in the parking area when arriving and leaving, they must remain on a lead from the vehicle to entering and being inside the field with the gate closed.

Please do not arrive more than five minutes before your time slot
When/ If you arrive in a vehicle, please remain in the vehicle until the previous user has exited the field with their dog. Alternatively, if arriving on foot, please wait on the space just in front of the carpark and NOT near the gate until the previous customer has exited with their dog.

Please be mindful of the time you are required to exit the field to ensure the next hirer has use at their allotted time. A dog with no recall will not suddenly develop it just because you are in an enclosed space. Some dogs may take time to feel ready to leave. Allow time for this.

It is the responsibility of those using the fields to leave promptly at the end of their session so please allow enough time for your dog to be back in the car before the end of your session.

Any owners who cannot get their dogs back at the end of their session must notify us immediately. Any additional sessions used must be paid for.

Cleanliness of the site

It is the hirers and dog owners responsibility to clean up mess after their dogs. Please leave the field in the way you would like to find it, it is inspected regularly during the day, and we work hard to keep it in good condition, please do the same.

Dog owners are responsible for picking up their own dog’s poo. Our poo policy is that if you see it, you pick it up. Of course, it is possible you may miss your dog’s poo, but we ask that if you see any poo, you pick it up and someone else will find your dog’s poo and pick it up. Help us keep the field clean and poo free for everyone’s enjoyment.

Dog poo must be securely bagged and placed in the designated dog waste bins provided.
Bins are for DOG WASTE ONLY. Our waste licence is only for dog waste and not any other waste, if you bring other items i.e. drinks these must be taken away with you.
OUR POO BAG ARE BEING SUPPLIED COURTESY OF THE DOGS HEALTH SHOP Dogs Health Shop | Healthy & Nutritional Foods & Treats For Dogs In The West Midlands.

Rubbish/broken or chewed toys/uneaten treats etc must be taken home, remember it could cause serious harm to other field users if ingested. If you see any litter which has been overlooked, please pick it up and take away with you (as others will do for you).

Do not litter the field, this obviously poses a danger to the dogs and wildlife.
Any litter you create MUST be taken away with you.

Children

Children are permitted on the field but must be supervised by an adult at all times.

The enrichment areas (logs, tyres etc) are designed to be used only by dogs and at your own risk.

A “NOT SO GENTLE” REMINDER

On Sunday 24th August @ approximately 7.50pm a user of the site chose to park outside of the fields and remove his dog from the car to wait outside of the gates before the current user had vacated the field

This resulted in not one but two altercations between the dogs - the dog using the field is extremely sensitive to Interactions with other dogs and has now been set back in their training plan due to the negativity of the experience

Our fields are here to provide safety and security for dog owners who want to ensure they don’t have to meet over “friendly “
Or reactive dogs and be subjected to unnecessary and unacceptable conditions when exercising their dogs.

There is no excuse for this !

We allow entry into the fields to park your car and release your dog without fear or concern

When making your bookings you agree to the terms and conditions of hire - these include
* not arriving early - leaving promptly
* keeping your dog secure in your car until positioned in the field and after the last user has gone
* if arriving on foot avoiding other users by wating at the front of the Car Park ( where the notices are ) until the previous user has left

Issuing reminders of this nature is never very nice and I’m currently on holiday and this is the last thing I want to be doing - the terms and conditions will be reposted later to remind everyone using the fields of their commitment

PLEASE REMEMBER - I am a certified dog trainer and if you require support with your dogs behaviour and handling please feel free to contact me

We do our best to make sure that bookings are allocated with time for users to leave the fields before the next person arrives

However yesterday during the middle
Of someone’s play session - a gentleman entered the playground patch leaving gates open - thankfully they were able to recall their dog to them and no harm was done - however this may not have been the case

Please do not enter through the gates for any reason if there are already dogs and owners in the fields

For those In the fields - please
Make sure you secure the chains and lock the padlock on the inside, before allowing your dogs out of the car

Thank you for your cooperation!!

Gill and Mark !
