The horses will be back in work in the next week or so for a busy upcoming season🎉
Finding the motivation when it’s so wet and miserable is proving harder than we thought! Plus our walker is currently resembling a hydrotherapy treadmill which is all fun and games until the horses poo on it!😂🌊 so using the time wisely, we are doing yard jobs instead!🪣🧼

With the 2023 show season complete, it’s nice to reflect on how much of a successful season it’s been. We didn’t get out half as much as we wanted too, initially because of wedding stuff but then life became busier with one thing or another!💁🏻‍♀️ We didn’t enter even one HOYS qualifier which was a goal for this year but there’s always next year.
Yet the shows we did attend, we achieved more wins and championships than we have done the last few years.
Plus Danish Duke won his first championship!🏆

Both horses are now in their winter woolies (hairy and fat!) and are having some down time before 2024 show season prep starts again in the new year.🌟

Dukey was a superstar on Sunday at Huby & Sutton Show. He was placed 6th in a huge RoR class, even though he threw a wobbler on the go round, when he was bitten by a horsefly poor guy!❤️
His trainer Ruth Carr was the sponsor of the Racehorse to Riding Horse classes🐎

I haven’t exactly been overly enthusiastic about riding recently….😂🥶

Safe to say I am very much a fair weather rider, that and with work being so busy and the weather not exactly being on side the horses are enjoying a little unexpected winter break whilst wrapped up in dozens of rugs!
Thankfully our next entered show isn’t until May 1st, so hoping the weather will very much improve by then!☀️

Super chuffed with this little ginger horse at the moment! Thrilled with how he is looking coming out of winter!🐷 he costs more in feed than a mortgage but the best haylage and super grazing is working wonders!

Bring on a summer of shows and qualifiers!🏆

Oh hello Annual Leave!!!👋🏻

It’s been a manic, interesting, chaotic but exciting few months in my new job but I’m beyond excited to be on leave now for 10 days!🎉

It’s all ponies, pony parties, Labradors and wedding shows galore this week and catching up massively on sleep!😝🦄
