A busy few weeks in puppy pre-school as we have the last classes of the year kicking off!!

First up this coming Sunday we are at our newest venue The James Hornsby in Basildon.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic we are now very aware of separation anxiety and the problems it can cause.

COVID is long gone but yet why are we still seeing so many anxious dogs?!?!

I honestly believe it gets labelled far too quickly. Certain breeds are more prone to it so we need to work on it even more so with lapdog breed such as cavalier King Charles, Bichons, lhas Apso’s, Frenchies, pugs etc. 🐕

It’s understanding how it’s created and most importantly steps we can take to prevent it from occurring.

This sort of thing of thing is happening daily and I’m fed up with people with a few letters after their name thinking they can charge the earth and deliver zero to their clients!!!

They have zero experience with dealing with problem dogs but are happy to medicate and even euthanise as a better option. Learning about dogs from a book will only take you so far And you are pushing a narrative that is so far away from reality is just laughable.

Separation anxiety is what eveyone is worried about when they get a puppy. We have to understand how it’s created.

It’s created by us allowing them to be with us 24/7. We shouldn’t just work on this by going out, we should also work on it when we are at home.

To build resilience you have to keep doing it for several months not several weeks. That’s how habits are formed. Nobody wants an anxious puppy. Please please consider this when training your puppy 😊😊🐶🐶

You have nothing without motivation. To get them to listen to you we must use the things they find valuable and continue doing this for a considerable amount of time.

There is a process, a system that you must follow to get success.
Otherwise you will become invisible and then outside that front door your dog will find everything else other than you more interesting.

Another great session on Tues at Belfairs academy as the main focus shifted to recall 🚀

We have to start off simple and as always set those pups up for success 🥇

We have now sold out our 9am class commencing Sun 2nd Nov at The James Hornsby. We still have the last few spaces for our 10am slot

We have also sold out for classes commencing Wed 12th Nov at The Mill in Rayleigh

We only have 2 spaces left for the next classes at Belfairs academy on Tues 4th Nov.

These will be our last classes this year!!

Spaces have already started to go for classes at all our venues that will be restarting again Jan.

The main focus of yesterdays classes were lead walking & lead handling. You just can’t underestimate the value of a dog that walks well on the lead. It’s crucial to getting on top of behavioural
Problems too.

Unfortunately outdoor puppy classes are coming to end as the weather begins to turn.

Thankfully Joe will be continuing at our newest venue Kingston Primary school with some gun dog training throughout the winter months ❄️ 🐕

Huge congrats to Bonnie for winning the big competition tonight but all the pups did amazing 🙌🙌

PLEASE HELP!!!

Good morning

As we continue to grow I am looking for either a permanent venue to rent or a venue hire to accommodate classes of an evening/weekends.

Land with outbuildings, school/sports halls, warehouse type units, community halls etc?? If anyone knows people who have or work at a suitable premises that’s a good size and is available evenings/weekends if you could put me in contact with them I would be very grateful 🙏

My mind is absolutely blown with the speed of the turnaround on this success story!!! 🤯 🤯🤯

After speaking with this client back in April it sounded like a complete reset was needed as a lot of problematic behaviours had began to creep in.

I had just finished our NEW online training course ‘how to raise the perfect puppy’ and thought it would be a great opportunity to put it to the test.

Within 10 days there was a noticeable difference with the results that they started getting but I still believed they would look to rehome the puppy unfortunately.

2 months later and their puppy was absolutely thriving and the results by their admissions were incredible.

I have never met these clients but it’s clear to see the true value in this course with the depth’s we go to in covering everything that is needed to help raise a puppy in the all important first year of their life.

We endeavour to help people get it right with their puppy. We will continue to make it as accessible and simple as possible. This course has it all!!!

How can we keep our furry friends safe in the hot weather?
🐶🐶☀️☀️

It really is important we don’t leave dogs in cars at all during the day in summer months. Not even for 5 minutes!!!

Cracking the windows is also ineffective for generating any airflow through the vehicle so bear this in mind too.

Dogs, especially puppies really struggle to regulate their own body temperature in hot weather.

The only way a dog can regulate it’s own body temperature is through panting, they don’t sweat like us.

Really consider is the ground too hot for walking. Asphalt, hot pavements & artificial grass can get extremely hot. Put your own feet on it??? Can you walk on it??

I know we want to go out & about with our furry friends but the best thing you can do when the temperature starts exceeding 20 degrees is leave them at home in the cool with access to plenty of water.

I see too many dogs on scorching days, heavily panting, looking hot & bothered. Out in the midday sunshine, it’s madness!!!!
