Just as loveable as his name, meet Elmo! 👋🏻

Aged around 5 years old, his foster mum says 'Elmo is the goodest, bestest handsomest boy! ❤️

He’s such a darling and will often greet you with a high five so you can admire his handsome paws. 🐾

He loves playing ping-pong and with his string-string. He also likes the treat puzzles and he loves scampering around. 🏓

When he first came to us, he was covered in horrible scabs and sores from an awful flea allergy. This is 99.9% sorted out but he will need to be treated regularly for fleas under veterinary advice (no off the shelf stuff!) and he just needs to occasionally wear his handsome jacket if he’s over-licking his neck! 👅

He is the boss of the dog that has recently been visiting his fosterer and he’s fine with the other cats, although a little bossy, so slow and careful introductions are obviously required. He’s been playing with 6 to 12-year-old children and they just need to let him walk off if he’s had enough.

He can be picked up for short cuddles and will quite frequently come on your lap. Otherwise, he likes to sit high up to survey his kingdom and what’s going on. 😻'

We believe with slow and careful introductions, Elmo could live with other pets and sensible children. He would also need a suitable outdoor space. 🏡

If you think you'd be able to give Elmo his furrever home, please apply to adopt here ⬇️

Oh Micky, you're so fine! 🥰

Aged around 1 years old, his foster mum says 'Micky is a lovely cat who likes lots of fuss! ❤️

He doesn’t mind being picked up and cuddled, and he really likes being brushed especially his tummy! He is playful and his favourite toys are his circuit track, small toys and small mice. 🐁

He is peculiar in that he will not eat from a cat bowl, but prefers a small side plate, and I have found he likes to eat little but often. 🍽️

He like to sleep in hidey holes but will come out when you call him. He can be very talkative when he wants to play or just wants attention he doesn’t mind being picked up for a cuddle.

He has made friends with my two cats and my dog, but this did take a while with slow introductions, and only some hissing but no fighting. Micky has also met and played with children age 9, with no problems.

Overall he is just absolutely adorable. ❤️'

We believe with slow and careful introductions, Micky could live with other pets and sensible children. He would also need a suitable outdoor space. 🏡

If you think you'd be able to give Micky his furrever home, please apply to adopt here. ⬇️

Meet the dinosaur sisters, Brontosaurus and Spinosaurus! 🦕🦖

Aged between 3-4 months old, their foster mum says 'Brontosaurus and Spinosaurus are a pair of bonded sisters who are slowly starting to gain the trust of humans.

They love affection and being stroked but not yet lap cats, but given time I believe this could change.

They are very social and love my other cats and my dog, as well as being very good with my young daughter.

They are so very lively and playful, and I would love them to be given the chance at a wonderful forever home. ❤️'

We believe with slow and careful introductions, Brontosaurus and Spinosaurus could live with other pets and sensible children. They would also need a suitable outdoor space

If you think you'd be able to give Brontosaurus and Spinosaurus their furrever home, please apply to adopt here

You'll be loving these two! Meet mother and daughter duo Apple Pie (smoke grey) and McFlurry (grey). 🍟

Apple Pie (aged around 2 years old) and McFlurry (aged around 1 years old) are a bonded pair, who love nothing more than playing with each other and their toys.

They have both been great mum and grandma to 3 kittens and now deserve a home of their own.

We believe with slow and careful introductions, Apple Pie and McFlurry could live with other calm pets and sensible older children. They would also need a suitable outdoor space 🏡

If you think you'd be able to give Apple Pie and McFlurry their furrever home, please apply to adopt here ⬇️

Most of the time we are asked (well more people moan about) why our adoption fees are so expensive, or if we could show a breakdown of exactly what is included within our adoption fees.

Well, as you can see below, our adoption fees aren't as expensive as you might think. In fact, we make a loss on each kitten that we adopt out. But can you really put a price on knowing that your kittens are healthy? A price on the fact that they are microchipped and neutered, meaning they are 2,000 times more likely to be reunited with their families (https://www.petplan.co.uk/pet-information/cat/advice/why-you-should-microchip-your-cat/), and less likely to have health issues?

If you can put a price on this then we definitely aren't for you, and good luck with your 'free' kitten!

Say hello to brother sister duo, Sammi and Saffy!

Aged around 1-2 years old, their foster mum says 'Sammi and Saffy. are bonded and love each other although totally different in nature.

Sammi is a friendly, loving, fussy ball of fluff, whereas Saffy is still wary. She will sniff you and is happy to be in the room with humans, but as yet has not chosen to be stroked or fussed, but will happily interact with a feather wand and loves catnip toys to kick around. 🪶

They also love watching the birds on CatTV and looking out of the window. I think with time and patience Saffy will come round and become more relaxed.

They would need to be homed together, as they are so bonded. But with slow and careful introductions, they could possibly live with a calm cat and sensible children. They would also need a suitable outdoor space. 🏡'

If you think you'd be able to give Sammi and Saffy their furrever home, please apply to adopt here ⬇️

For clarification, please note that we are a RESCUE, not a REHOMING centre.

Due to very limited space, we are unable to rehome cats from people.

I appreciate that this may seem strange to some, but unfortunately if we took in every cat we're asked to, or even a quarter of them, we'd never have any space for the strays, like Drake and Tippi (pictured).

We take in stray cats, feral cats, cats at significant risk (decided by me, nobody else) and feral mums & kittens.
We also accept cats from veterinary practices that have been handed in or surrendered to them.
There are many other cat charities that do offer a rehoming service, so please contact them instead.
Thank you 😻

Adopting kittens from Hector's House Cat Rescue!

Please read this through thoroughly as it outlines our adoption process for kittens. PLEASE NOTE that we always rehome our kittens in pairs unless WE decide it is best for the kitten to remain a singleton. We DO NOT rehome our kittens as indoor-only.

1) Apply to adopt kittens via our online application form found here:

https://www.hectorshousecatrescue.co.uk/adopting-a-cat/

2) One of our home-check team will be in touch to arrange a home-check. If they can't get hold of you they will leave a message. Please respond to a voicemail or text within 48 hours or you will be removed from our application list;

3) A day & time for a home-check will be arranged. If you cancel this, it is YOUR responsibility to get back in touch with the home-check team to re-arrange;

4) Once a successful home-check has been carried out, you will be sent a video created by our partners at Pet Remedy and your name will be placed on our waiting list.

5) When you are 'next' on our list, you will be offered a pair of kittens. These will be the next pair of kittens that are available. If you accept, you will be asked to 'pay' for your kittens via our online shop found here:

https://www.hectorshousecatrescue.co.uk/p/pair-of-kittens-adoption/

If you don't want those kittens, you will be offered the next available pair. If these aren't suitable, for whatever reason ie colour, you will then go back to the bottom of the waiting list. This is not negotiable.

6) Once the kittens are paid for, they are reserved, and collection will be arranged between you and the home-check team. This will be within 7 days of their neuter surgery and final vaccination. Unfortunately we are unable to 'hold' kittens for longer than this once reserved.

7) Due to most of our kittens being in a private home fostering environment, it is up to the fosterer as to whether they will allow you to visit in the weeks after reservation and before adoption.

8) When you collect your kittens, you will be expected to bring a suitably secure cat carrier.

9) Your kittens will come with a small knitted blanket which has his familiar smells on it. Please leave this with the kittens for at least two weeks. Your kittens will also come with a Pet Remedy New Home Kit. Please read & follow the instructions in the box and use the diffuser.

10) Please keep your adoption paperwork & vaccination cards in a safe place as it contains details of our post-adoption support advisor and the contact details of the veterinary practice your cat has been treated at whilst in our care.
PLEASE NOTE:
Our kittens are neutered, microchipped, flead, wormed and fully vaccinated including against FeLv

11) Most importantly, enjoy your kittens!

We will have given you comprehensive information as to the best way to settle your kittens in to their new environment. This is from a combination of research, practice and our experience. Please ensure that you fully adhere to them to avoid any frustrating complications in the settling in process 💕😻💞

Adopting an adult cat from Hector's House Cat Rescue!

Please read this through thoroughly as it outlines our adoption process for adult cats:

1) Apply to adopt a cat via our online application form found here:
https://www.hectorshousecatrescue.co.uk/adopting-a-cat/

2) One of our home-check team will be in touch to arrange a home-check. If they can't get hold of you they will leave a message. Please respond to a voicemail or text within 48 hours or you will be removed from our application list;

3) A day & time for a home-check will be arranged. If you cancel this, it is YOUR responsibility to get back in touch with the home-check team to re-arrange;

4) Once a successful home-check has been carried out, you will be sent a video created by our partners at Pet Remedy and advised to keep an eye not only on our page Hector's House Cats for Rehoming but also new arrivals on our main page Hector's House Residents.

5) When you find a suitable cat, you can express an interest and the cat will be assessed for his suitability to fit in with your family/household. If we feel it's a good match, you will be asked to 'pay' for your cat via our online shop found here:
https://www.hectorshousecatrescue.co.uk/p/adult-cat-adoption/

6) Once the cat is paid for, he is reserved, and collection will be arranged between you and the home-check team, within the following three days. Unfortunately we are unable to 'hold' cats for longer than this once reserved.

7) Due to most of our cats being in a private home fostering environment, it is not possible to meet the cats. We also believe that such 'viewings' are not a true representation of the cat and causes them unnecessary stress.

8) When you collect your cat, you will be expected to bring a suitable secure cat carrier. Please remember that a lot of our boys are on the large & heavy side so a small plastic carrier won't be suitable.

9) Your cat will come with a small knitted blanket which has his familiar smells on it. Please leave this with the cat for at least two weeks. Your cat will also come with a Pet Remedy New Home Kit. Please please read the instructions in the box and use the diffuser.

10) Please keep your adoption paperwork in a safe place as it contains details of our post-adoption support advisor and the contact details of the veterinary practice your cat has been treated at whilst in our care.
PLEASE NOTE:
Our adult cats are neutered, microchipped, flead, wormed and had any other treatment necessary carried out, including dental work.
They are NOT vaccinated although we fully recommend that you get this done 😻

11) Most importantly, enjoy your cat!

We will have given you comprehensive information as to the best way to settle your cat in to his new environment. This is from a combination of research, practice and our experience. Please ensure that you fully adhere to them to avoid any frustrating complications in the settling in process 💕😻💞
