Len loves a snooze, infact spends most of his day snoozing. Did you know that adult dogs can spend on average 12-14 hours a day catching some Z's and puppies up to 18 hours!
Cats are similar and spend 12-18 hours a day sleeping. Favouring warm, comfortable elevated places to relax.

💔It breaks our hearts to say that today is Zeus’ 500th day at our centre, a day that we never thought we would see. Zeus arrived at our centre in October 2022, and since then he has watched 68 lucky dogs leave our centre to go to their forever homes. All he wants is for someone to finally choose him.
🐶If you are looking for a best friend, Zeus is the boy for you. He absolutely LOVES people and would make an amazing companion. Zeus loves spending time with our team, whether he’s playing fetch, running around in our Off Lead area, searching for treats in his favourite puzzle games, or snuggling up on the sofa in the dog house, his tail never stops wagging when he’s with them. He is such a happy and playful boy, who will bring so much happiness and entertainment to your home!
🐕Zeus is very much a people-dog, but unfortunately he struggles with dog aggression. Because of this, he is looking for an extra special home with an experienced family who are willing to continue with his training. Zeus will need to be the only pet in the home, and will need to live somewhere rural where he doesn’t have any dog neighbours. He is a bundle of energy and excitement, but he is also very strong, so he would be suitable to live with children over the age of 16. We appreciate that we have quite specific requirements for Zeus, but we know that his perfect new family is out there somewhere who can tick all his boxes!

Something a little different for me recently. Looking after 2 Giant Snails 🐌
The Giant African Land Snail is one of the largest terrestrial gastropods. They have a light to dark brown shells with vertical stripes of a darker shade of brown on them.
They have an average lifespan of about 5-7 years. When they have enough food, and the weather is satisfactory, they tend to live much longer. Some of them have been known to live up to 10 years.
They can grow to the size of human arm from the hand and elbow

It is estimated that 484,143 British horses, mules, camels, and bullocks died between 1914 and 1918 during World War I, and many hundreds of dogs, carrier pigeons and other animals also died on various fronts.
There were a large number of animals that were used in World War 2, whether they were used as service animals or simply as companions. All manner of animals were involved in the second world war including horses, donkeys, dogs, cats, elephants, camels, pigeons, mongooses, rats, mice, and many, many more.
It is hard to tell how many animals died as a result of World War 2. The number is likely to be in the 10’s of millions, but it is impossible to know. Unfortunately, it is rumoured that two species of animals would become extinct during World War 2, both being flightless birds native to the Pacific islands. Pet owners also gave up in excess of 750,000 pet cats and dogs for euthansia in just ONE WEEK!

Lick mats! I love them! I think every dog should have one! They can be used for so many things! Whether it's for a simple treat, distraction, enrichment, desensitisation, or slowing fast eaters down.
I mainly use them for treats for Len or as a distraction for when visitors arrive so he isn't jumping on people, cos let's face it, not everyone likes that!
During this warmer spell we are having, I freeze the mats, which makes it harder for him to lick the contents, which means it lasts him longer and it's obviously nice and cool for him enjoy. 😋
These can also be used for cats by the way! 🐱

I spent the weekend visiting gorgeous Narla 😍
Her visits compromised of 30-minute checks for feeding, water replenishing, time outside to go to the toilet, and playing. Although it was a bit warm🌡 for her this weekend, sometimes a sit on the floor with a brush and some fuss was all she needed 🩷
