When you are chocka full but schedule in two meet & greets two months in advance and spend the morning trying to tidy round!
One no show and one reschedule! 🤦🏻‍♀️
So many dogs waiting for trial days! 😩
So quiet afternoon for Ger then? Nope! He’s gone to do firewood!

“The service we never knew we needed, until we met Pawfect Occasions”

I hear this so often! Normally followed by “I didn’t even think of what I was going to do with the dog” or “my friend volunteered but we wouldn’t relax” ☺️

We take any stress away from you on the day, making sure the dog is relaxed and taken care of, so you can enjoy one of the most important days of your life!

If your dog is getting worried by all the people arriving, or decides they need a poo halfway through the drinks reception, or decides to sing through your vows…we are there to distract/cuddle/take for a mooch so you don’t have to think about anything other than yourselves ❤️

With over 5 and a half years of chaperoning at weddings, we’ve seen it all! From noisy dachshunds to worried collies, to boisterous bulldogs and wild German shepherds. I don’t think anything would surprise us anymore 😆

Did you know we are also the only full time chaperones in Lancashire? This means we solely dedicate our time to weddings and our lovely couples and their dogs!

I’m attending this course next week.
There are still some spaces left.

The Behaviour and Restraint of Aggressive Dogs Course is a go go.

Eight canine professionals and dog owners are joining me for a day of theory and practical training.

The course is designed to equip you with plans of what do if things go wrong with dogs.

I've been running this course for many years and use my trainer dogs as part of the learning, as well as the new rescues to show real life behaviour.

Can't wait to run it again today!

If you want to grab a space on the 7th November on the next one then check it out here - https://bookwhen.com/trailingk9s =ev-sst7-20241107100000

The Gundog Retrieve – A Seven Day Challenge with Jane Ardern and The School of Canine Science.
Hi! Jane here.

Thought I’d do a little bit about me today in the run up to the start of the Seven Day Gundog Retrieve Challenge. I’m a trainer and behaviourist, I actually have a ridiculous number of qualifications including an Honours Degree in Canine Behaviour and Training, I have spoken professionally at conferences and lectured in Canine Behaviour at University.
However, over the past few years I’ve moved away from collecting qualifications and onto collecting cocker spaniels.
My addictive nature has also meant I’ve become a little obsessed with Gundog Training. I’ve been at it for over 13 years now learning from some of the best in industry with my own dogs and getting them out working in the field on a regular basis.

I’m a UK Kennel Club Accredited Instructor in Working Gundogs and a Accredited Instructor and Assessor with The Gundog Club who promote reward based training with Gundogs.

I created this course with SOCS because I love teaching the gundog retrieve to both my pet clients and also people who want to get out there and work their gundogs. It’s such a valuable skill for all dog owners and helps avoid so many of the behaviour problems I see in all dogs.
I love the different variables in retrieve training as you can be working with one dog who simply is not interested in retrieving and then another that is so obsessed with it, they can’t be steady or wont give it up. I can help with all these issues.

Do you know how to search your pup for ticks?

Follow these steps:
🐾 Move your fingertips through their coat at skin level, feeling for any bumps
🐾 Start at their head and neck (don't forget to check their mouth and ears!)
🐾 Continue checking down their front legs to their paws - make sure to check between their toes
🐾 Search their chest, belly, back, tail, and back legs
🐾 Remove their collar to search for any ticks hiding underneath

With November 5th approaching , it’s the time of year that many pet owners dread- now is the time to work on helping them.

🎆It’s absolutely fine to comfort a pet if they’re scared - doing so won’t make their fear worse. It will just help them understand that if they’re scared , they can come to you and trust you to help them through it.

If your pet struggles to cope , there are some over the counter remedies you can buy to help them cope on the night . I currently have a link for 25% off all Pet Remedy products - ask for details.

Get in touch if you want some support to help your dog overcome their fears in preparation for the inevitable fireworks in the Christmas & New Year period .
