RUSTY
This 7 year, 8 in Dec, old boy came into us after his 86 year old owner passed away, she had had boxers all her life and had previously lost her female boxer who lived happily with Rusty.
Some words included below from his foster home and myself.
He is neutered and now up to date with his vaccinations, worm and flea treatment. He is a large lad and has been on a diet and still is whilst at his foster home. He has lost 2.3kg so far but still needs to lose some weight.
He would suit a dog free home, though he used to live with another boxer and is on foster with another dog, he would benefit from being an only dog in the home, or a non dominant female.
Though work would be needed to help with socialising more as he was isolated in his previous home so does think he needs to protect. He spent his years wandering around a few acres of land with his elderly owner going wherever she did.
He adores women more than men, as it was only him and his lady owner, you will need to be happy with him as your shadow he will follow you everywhere and Lyn says she means everywhere.
He walks well on the lead and so far has taken no notice of horses, chicken in the paddock. However he has not met any cats so we do not know how he is with these. He is also extremely good with Lyns 9yr old grandson.
The puppy mode is slowly emerging and he has started to play with a ball, playing tap of his feet on the wooden floor hes really started the boxer bounce.
Rusty was involved in a rear end car accident 4yrs ago and hadn't been in a vehicle until I collected him 2 months ago. But Lyn and Peter have been working on this and he goes in a normal car but has objected to a 4x4 truck, which is what he had an accident in, but they have recently got him into their 4 x 4 a couple of times. You cannot force him as he will just sit and plant his 7 stone self and won't move. So encouragement will be needed if you have a 4 x 4.
He can be left in the home by himself with no problem and he is clean. H
We did enjoy our new game ' Musical Sit ' ....I had to take part with the Sit 😂
We hope you all enjoyed your day with us 💜
