Safe & Hound is a 6 acre secure field set on the outskirts of Turners Hill. The field is enclosed with 6’ high deer fencing, with parking inside the field.

Bookings are available in 30 minutes or 1 hour time slots between 6am-9pm Mon-Sun.

🚨🚨EMERGENCY ROAD CLOSURE 🚨🚨

Unfortunately Selsfield Road between Taranas and the cross roads in Turners Hill has been shut due to emergency electrical works. No diversion signs in place. If coming from Ardingly/Lindfield/HH you will need to go via Vowels lane.

Good Morning all,

Next week between Monday 25/11 through to Friday 29/11 the road is closed between Mount Lane (The Ark/playground area) and the Turners Hill Junction which I’m assuming is by The Crown/crossroads.

Access to the field if coming from that direction will be via Vowels Lane, which will add around 10 minutes to your journey.

Access from EG way is fine.

Apparently you can get through if walking from Turners Hill.

If you have a booking made and would prefer to reschedule, please send me a message and I can do that for you.

Can I ask, that when using the field you try to stick to the hard standing for parking/turning.

The area is plenty big enough to turn if needed.

The logs are there to stop people driving on the softer ground, making it muddier….not just to be pushed out the way!

Good Morning 😃

I just wanted to let you know I’ll be away from tomorrow for a couple of days, so I’ll be sending out the weekend gates codes this evening with contact details for Kirsty who will be on hand to deal with any queries, ie directions, forgotten gate codes……

If you would like to make a new booking, amend or cancel any sessions please let me know today as there is 0 phone signal where I’m going and Kirsty doesn’t have access to the booking system.

Good Evening!

Just a quick update on the field! Unfortunately due to mower issues I’ve not been able to keep the pathways short so far this year…..
However thankfully I’ve been rescued and a nice wide path has been put in around the perimeter of the field for now, with the rest of the field due to be cut within the next few weeks 😃

Good Morning!

I just wanted to update as there have been some issues when using Apple Pay to book the field….as far as I can see there shouldn’t be, and hopefully by reinstalling it, the glitch will have gone!

Please do always check for email confirmation of your booking, as if this doesn’t come through, it’s safe to say the booking hasn’t processed properly.

You’re always more than welcome to drop me a message and I can double check and confirm either way, if you’re not sure.

Good morning all!
Just a quick reminder about where to wait if you’re early for your booking and the field is in use….

There is a small area to the right of the first metal field gate, please use this area to wait for your session. NOT outside the wooden gate, as this can cause some dogs to run to the gate and puts an end to their session before their time is up.

Please also keep your dogs inside your car until you’re safely inside the field. People use the field for all manner of reasons, 1 being a nice safe place to take reactive dogs without the fear/stress of bumping into other dogs.
I’ve had this happen myself, and trying to get a 9st mastiff in the car when he’s fixated on another dog by the gate is not a nice experience.

Don’t forgot to pick up after your dog too while using the field 💩

One final thing….thanks if you’ve made it this far!
I’ll be changing the gate codes on a more regular basis going forward….it appears someone is making a booking once, then chancing their luck and using the field in the evenings without a booking or permission. This just isn’t fair to everyone who books and pays for the field regularly through the week at all.

Please can I just remind everyone to make sure both gates, the large wooden one and the metal field gate are both closed and locked after finishing your session? If someone is waiting to go in then I’m happy for you to leave them open for them, but if no one is waiting please make sure they are both closed. There is livestock in the field next to us and it would be devastating if they were to get it out.

Hi all, before we head into a new week I just wanted to post a couple of reminders when using the field 😊

💩as always it is YOUR responsibility to pick up after YOUR dogs, no one else’s💩

🗑️ the bin in the field is for dog waste only, please take any other rubbish home with you. The odd little thing doesn’t matter, however this week the bin was full with most the space being taken up by empty cardboard boxes! 🗑️

🛑waiting area, please use the large space outside the first metal field gate to wait until the field is free should you arrive early, or just inside this gate. Driving up to the main field gates can cause distress to some dogs using the field. And PLEASE keep dogs in cars until securely inside the field 🛑

Lastly please do make sure both gates are closed and locked when leaving the field. Last week the outer gate was left open on quite a few occasions when I arrived, with the field gate being left open on one of those times too!
