Looking forward to our first trip to the Portsoy wool festival. We will have lots of lovely raw fleece with us all individually rolled and bagged from a variety of different breeds.

It’s truly wonderful to see so many of our regular vendors returning and we are so excited to welcome them back.

We also have a great selection of new folks attending that we know you will be delighted to get to know.

Ted had a busy start to Turriff Show. Whilst in the queue to unload the sheep someone’s sheep escaped!
Ted went to the rescue and helped bring the sheep back and pen them in the corner with the help of another guy and his dog. All with me running after them in my show clothes with Stephen’s waterproofs on top! (It was some sight 😂🙈)
What a good boy Ted! 🐶
He then got a quick groom as he was now all muddy and went on to get second place in the collie dogs round x

I’m hoping the power of Facebook may help. I’m looking to track down a young lad called Euan from Turriff Show. He spent a long time at the SNS pen but left before I got a chance to give him something.
All I know is he is 14, was dressed in country attire and was with some friends (another taller boy and two girls, one a lot younger). He’s shown sheep before and I think his Grandad may have sheep.
Hoping to track him down to offer him a thank you for offering to help us out. If you could share would be great thank you xx

We are going to view some Pedigree Blue Texel Tups on the morning of the 17th August at Stuart Woods, Westhill. This will be a massive addition to our pedigree flock and also our commercial flock. He is going to be one busy boy come the end of the year. Let’s hope he isn’t camera shy, pics to follow 🐑👍❤️

We just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who came along to our lamb feeding experience this year. All lambs are now weaned and loving life out in the fields. 🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑

We have had so much fun sharing a little bit of our lives at such a wonderful time of year (who doesn’t like getting to cuddle a baby animal 😍) and hope to see you back again next year ###

Last weekend we spent separating the ewes and lambs to wean them off. All were happy to go to their new fields ♥️🐑 One tup lamb was picked up for his new home and some more of the ewe lambs reserved. Get in touch if you are interested. 😁

Cara had another busy day showing her dog Kiska. She came 4th for prettiest bitch and got a judges special rosette for best x breed.

We also took “number 5” that some of you may remember. Unfortunately it wasn’t her day and she didn’t get placed up against much bigger lambs but we still think she’s beautiful 🐑💕

Very happy with that for our first show xx

Fleeces are all individually bagged ready for sale.

Taken straight off the sheep and rolled on a table so clean and vm free.

Also have a tonne bag of fleeces that can be used for scraps for gardening, mud control in gateways etc.

Been a busy weekend shearing the sheep!
Thank you to Euan Rogerson, the sheep will be feeling much better now!
Also thank you Team Smith for all the help and hard work to make it all happen. We couldn't do it without you.
Also to our wonderful friends Jody Leil and Chloe McLean who came to join the chaos and help.
Not forgetting Ted the sheepdog and his helpers Moss and Wacky 🐾
We missed Stephen as he was working offshore. He was gutted he wasn't here but I've assured him there will be plenty jobs for him once he is back 🤣

🐑 Due to sheep shearing this weekend we will not be taking bookings for lamb feeding this Saturday 15th. Sessions are still available to book on Mon's, Wed's, Fri's & Sat's 🐑

🐴 Another interesting use for sheep fleece 🐴

Sheep fleece can be used as a membrane under stone to provide a mud free area. Boggy gateways can be a thing of the past with a little time and effort.
