Lovely Nyla was seen at our Osterley branch today due to a fish hook stuck in her mouth๐Ÿ˜ฒ!!

She is a very inquisitive dog and could not resist sticking her face into bushes along the Grand Union Canal๐Ÿคญ

She is a very lucky girl - and our amazing Osterley team managed to remove it. She ended up leaving with a big smile on her face and hopefully !!! ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ’š

Grass Seed season is upon us ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿถ

These (thankfully still small seeds) were taken from a little Cockapoo's ear this afternoon by our Vet Sara.

Coming into the warmer weather, it is very important you always check your dog after they have been out for walks/runs in grassy areas. Grass Seeds will normally find their way into Ears/Nose and In-between toes on a dog which can be very painful and sometimes will even require sedation or surgery to have them removed. ๐Ÿค•

What can you do to help avoid Grass Seeds getting into those places?
1. Always check your dog over, have a really good look!
2. Put something round the dogs head/ears to stop anything from getting into there (like a head scarf).
3. Try avoid long grassy areas if possible.

This gorgeous boy was in to see us yesterday at our Whitton branch for an X-Ray and surgery. He was such a good boy!

Our VNA Sam couldn't get enough of him!! And I'm pretty sure Chester was loving the attention too, as he didn't want to be out of Sam's arms!

Handsome Gus-Gus ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฑ

Introducing Gus-Gus! A friendly, young cat with a massive purr and a massive belly!

Gus-Gus was born after his pregnant mum was found as a stray and rescued by us.

We quickly realised he had some health issues, which after investigation were found to be a malformation of his bladder, meaning it gets really distended and he leaks urine.

This, together with his reluctance to use his litter trays, means he is unadoptable.

We have a policy of not putting our rescued animals to sleep unless they are suffering, so while he continues to be happy and pain-free, he will live with us as a sanctuary animal.

The picture shows him in his attractive pink onesie after the investigative abdominal surgery.

If you have any empty Blister Packs at home, instead of chucking them in the bin, bring them into either Whitton or the Osterley branch so they can go into their own recycle bin ๐Ÿ’Šโ™ป๏ธ

Happy National Receptionist Day ๐Ÿ’•

Claire is our new Whitton Receptionist that has joined our team only a week ago and has been loving every day! We can't wait to see her grow within her new role!!

Clodagh is our Whitton Reception Supervisor, who has been working in the Veterinary industry for 5years and has been Supervisor for 2 of those years now. And still loving every bit of her job!

Camilla is our Osterley Receptionist who has also been in the Veterinary industry for a number amount of years, has been with us since the beginning of this year. Camilla is our only Receptionist at Osterley and I think we can all agree that she's brilliant!!

We feel that all Veterinary Receptionists deserve a massive round of applause for all the work they do for both the clients and their team!

Due to the amount of positive feedback we've been getting at our Whitton branch from the dogs AND their humans...๐Ÿ˜… regarding our homemade treats, we've been giving out, we thought we'd share the recipe!

What you'll need:
- Plain Oats
- x4 Bananas
- Natural Peanut-Butter (needs to be Natural peanut butter as best for your dogs tummy)

Mash up the Bananas (pop in the microwave to make sure they are nice and soft and easy to mix). Then add 3 or 4 (depending on how much you'd like) peanut butter into a bowl with the mashed Bananas and the Oats.

Give this all a good mix and if a little sticky, add a little bit of water. Then place into a baking tray and pop into the oven at 185ยฐ for 10/15mins. Take out and let it cool down forba further 10mins.

Chop into bite size pieces and enjoy!!!

With the new law coming into affect on the 10th June 2024, we have taken a little video to show just how easy it is for your cat to have their microchipping done.

It is so important to have your cat Chipped as this will help identify them if they ever go missing from home, then later found by a member of the public.

From now until June, we ยฃ10 off the microchipping cost. Make sure to get your little ones booked in!!
