Ever opened some raw food and the "blood" 🩸 squirts everywhere 🫣

Well I'm here to tell you that's not actually blood 😱

It's actually a mixture of water and a substance called myoglobin.

What is myoglobin?
Myoglobin is an oxygen rich, iron carrying protein which is found in muscle meats, It’s extremely high in nutrients and its main job is to carry and store oxygen in the muscles cells. The redder the meats the higher concentration of myoglobin.

It's the exact same thing as when humans have a steak pink and it has juice 🥩

So next time pop the "liquid gold" in the food rather than getting rid of it.

Mega Braids are essentially a standard braid that has been braided together, to make one ‘Mega Braid’ Super long lasting, these are excellent for enthusiastic chewers. Camel in particular has a very high protein content and is Ultra-low fat! *Approximately 40-50cm*

Let's talk marrow bones!

Alot of people have asked me if I will stock these... the answer will always be no. We personally see them as too much of a risk, they have potential to snap teeth because they are weight bearing bones and they can get stuck on your dogs jaw ( this happens more than you think)

Our number one priority will always be the safety of your dog 🐕 ❤️

Meet Nancy, the eight-month-old Boxweiler who found herself in a jaw-dropping situation. 🐕🦴

Nancy managed to get a bone chew stuck on her jaw, causing her distress. 😟 Owner Henrietta tried to help, but the bone refused to budge. They rushed to our Vets Now clinic in Farnham, where our dedicated team freed her under sedation.

Nancy's story isn't an isolated incident. Vets Now clinics have been seeing a worrisome rise in similar cases. Henrietta joins us in urging fellow pet owners to avoid potentially dangerous bones and opt for safer, specially designed-chew toys.
