Lady M met best friend Riley and they were having a lovely game before she ended it very abruptly. She hobbled over to me on 3 legs, holding her front left paw in the air, refusing to put any weight on it. Despite her initial concerns that her leg was about to fall off, within a minute or two she was absolutely fine. It was just a slight overreaction to brushing through a clump of stinging nettles! It's a greyhound thing! 😱🙄❤️

Lady M has been limited to the back seat of the car for the last few months as I have been storing some kit for work in the boot. Today she finally got ‘her’ space back and she was clearly very pleased about it. To prove a point she lay down and stretched out the full length of the car and looked at me as if to say ‘don’t do that again!’ 😆❤️💖

With her 10 inch leg length advantage it might not seem like a fair chase, but Lady M is 8 years older and she did have to outrun 3 of them! 😆❤️🐾

Slightly misjudged the temperature this morning. The forecast said 7 degrees but there was actually quite a frost. Luckily Lady M’s extra lbs served her well and she didn’t seem to notice! ❄️❤️🐾

It was a struggle to prise Lady M from her bed this morning, but boy was it worth it! Quite breathtaking 😍❤️🐾

Lady M loves playing with other dogs but she chooses her opponents carefully. She must be able to outrun them if things start to get a bit ‘intense’. These two therefore seemed like suitable challengers! 😆❤️🐾

I was back at work yesterday after 3 weeks off. I knew Lady M would struggle as she had got used to having me around and as expected, it took her most of the day to settle. She is clearly still upset about it today, as it is my day off and I am getting a very chilly cold shoulder from Lady M. I know she will quickly get back in to the routine but I wish she could understand that in order to keep her in the manner to which she has become accustomed, work is a necessity, not a choice 😔

Our walks have been a little boring recently as I am still getting over COVID, so I took Lady M to a new local dog walking field to give her something to think about. Lady M had a blast and to my complete surprise was happy to humour me and take on some of the obstacles in the field. Problem solving is not one of Lady M’s strongest qualities, but she was clearly very proud of herself for successfully negotiating the tyre steps. She is now back snoozing on the sofa and recharging her batteries ❤️💖🐾

Came home to find my fleece wasn’t quite where I left it, so I checked dog-cam to find out what had been going on. As I scrolled through, Lady M parked herself infront of the fireplace with a completely innocent ‘Who? Moi?’ expression on her face. Turns out I had accidentally left a few treats in my fleece pocket when I went out and Lady M had gotten peckish. Luckily I disturbed her just in time, as although my pocket was extremely soggy, she hadn’t quite managed to chew all the way through. You have been rumbled Lady M!!! 😆❤️💖

Lady M wasn’t particularly impressed when I told her that her walk had been slightly delayed this morning. Her response? She decided to shred my diary! Fortunately I heard the rustle before she had a chance to totally trash it. May has taken a bit of a hit, but luckily the rest of the year still remains intact. For a hound who used to just want to disappear into the shadows, she has certainly developed some very effective techniques to get herself noticed! 😆❤️💖

Well it doesn’t look very comfortable, but I am sure if Lady M was experiencing even the slightest hint of discomfort, she wouldn’t have fallen asleep like that!!! 😆❤️💖

Got caught out on our walk when the heavens opened. Lady M wasn’t too impressed and had been lagging some distance behind me for most of the walk. When I turned to her and asked if she wanted to go home, this was her reaction!!! She then took off all the way back across the field, and waited for me by the gate! 😆❤️☔️

When we go on walks, Lady M is always too excited and impatient to take a step back so I can pick up the line, so she does her happy dance! 😆❤️🐾

You know those times when you get so caught up in the excitement of the moment that you make decisions you then later regret…?!🤔🤣🤣🤣

Lady M spends most of her life happily asleep on the sofa. She does need to get SOME exercise, so I insist she joins me for a walk every day. Now I understand that it was pouring with rain this morning, but this was Lady M’s response… NOPE! 😆❤️☔️

Tam and Lady M are really good in the cottage and never chew anything they are not meant to. However, to satisfy their destructive desires, I often hide kibble inside several layers of cardboard and they take great joy in shredding the cardboard to reveal the goodies hidden inside. Despite appearances, they are both very careful and never eat any of the cardboard. By the time they have finished you can guarantee they have found every last piece of kibble! 😆💕❤️

I see very little of Tam on walks these days…! 😆❤️🐾

It is such a relief to see Tam feeling so much better now. He even smashed his previous personal best to achieve 7 consecutive body slam rolls across the field 🙄😆❤️

Lady M’s general attitude is ‘If at first I don’t succeed, get Lisa to do it for me’. That is unless it involves rearranging the soft furnishings, then she shows all the tenacity of a Jack Russell Terrier! I particularly like the glare that says ‘well, aren’t you going to help me?!’ a few seconds in. This was just the tail end of it when the poor girl was starting to tire! 😆💖❤️

Problem solving - golden retriever style!!! In his frustration, Tam accidentally whacked his snack ball into the box. This was the tail end of his attempt to get it out…. Box 1 : Retriever 0 😆😆🤣

Tam had his second hydrotherapy session today. I wasn’t sure how he would react as he found the last session quite overwhelming, but he exceeded expectations. It was heart wrenching watching him summon up the courage to jump off the ramp into the water but once he was in, he swam really well. He did need a bit of a cuddle for reassurance after each lap, then after a few minutes he was ready to go again! So proud of him ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

When walking in the countryside, one must always be alert to potential trip hazards. Have to admit, he nearly had me on the ground with this one!!! 😆❤️🐾

I dared to stop stroking Lady M for just a second without permission and this was her response!!! 😆❤️🐾

I gave Lady M a piece of puffed wheat as a treat. From her reaction you’d think I was trying to poison her! 🙄😆❤️

I do all I can to keep Tam and Lady M happy and healthy, then Tam does THIS and gives himself an aural haematoma! I wonder if they sell bubble wrap in golden retriever sized rolls?!!! 🤔🙄🤣💕🐾

The difference between a lurcher and a retriever #7: The ‘retrieve’. Vastly differing techniques and you can’t knock their enthusiasm, but the finish still needs work 🙄🤣🤣🤣
