Yesterday we visit a 17yo patient. The owner has noticed some long nails. When we have trimmed them, few of these were ingrown nails with active bleeding. This is was really surprising as the kitty was able to walk and having outdoor time without showing any sign of pain!

We recommend a nail trim every couple of months for older cats, in order to avoid ingrown nails and subsequently infection.
