New arrival 🥰

This young kitten came into rescue today as an emergency
He was rescued from a property that is involved in illegal activity involving animals.

I am grateful to Haleema Sajid for rescuing him and looking after him until foster space could be found.

He is underweight and dirty and shouldn’t have been living outside 😔

My thanks to Brenda Barsby for offering to foster another kitten.

This beautiful girl arrived in rescue last night. She has been much loved by her owner , who sadly, can no longer look after her.

Sadly a deceased black cat has been found opposite the entrance to Fountains Abbey. Not chipped.

New arrival 🥰

This very gentle 6 month old kitten has come into rescue today - and guess what …. she’s
pregnant 😔

This is the third pregnant queen that has come into rescue in just over a week - in January !!

New arrivals 🥰

These two pretty kittens arrived in rescue today.
They were trapped as part of an ongoing effort by Alison Gibson at a colony in Leeds.

They’re a bit scaredy at the moment but hopefully they will be brave and settle soon.

New arrival 🥰

This pretty kitten was an unexpected arrival in rescue today.
She was being offered for free on social media and I’m grateful to Shamsi Pearson for going to collect her from the owner and bringing her into rescue.

New arrival 🥰

This is Neo, about 9 months old - the fourth kitten that arrived in rescue on Thursday night. This beautiful gentle boy is also unwell and stayed with our vets at Crab Lane for neutering.
These poor kittens must have been fending for themselves outside for some time, as his little paws are dark brown and not white. 😔

Despite him being unwell with a temperature, as soon as he came out of the carrier at the vets, he started purring 💙

Neo is now safely in foster and I’m grateful to Liz Oram and her family for offering to foster him.

New arrivals 🥰

These three little beauties came in to rescue today after living outside for some time.

My thanks to Leanne Webster for getting in touch and securing them.

Although different ages, they are domestic kittens and very friendly. They have clearly been living outside for a while, as they’re very thin and dirty.

I am grateful to our vets at Crab Lane for seeing them all at short notice, as they’re also unwell with a virus.

With the help from Jenny Balmforth for transportation and Sonia Watt for offering to foster them - these 3 pretty girls are now safely in rescue.

🥺❤️Young adults & older kittens desperately need homes too!❤️🥺

Once again, we find ourselves with young cats & kittens that have been in foster care too long. They are ready to be adopted and are desperate to find their own homes … 😢

Just a reminder why older cats & kittens are more suitable for some homes than young kittens:

• They need less supervision
• We know their personality better, for e.g. whether they are lap cats or not which
helps make the right match
• They can be adopted on their own as opposed to in pairs
• They suit people who are at work during the day
• They are calmer

Kittens aren’t right for everyone, so please bear these points in mind when considering adopting.

This beautiful mama arrived in rescue yesterday - we have been told that this is her 4th litter of kittens 😢

🙏🐈‍⬛ FOSTERERS WITH SAFE OUTDOOR SPACE NEEDED! 🐈‍⬛🙏

We really need to find fosterers that have a safe/enclosed outdoor space for some of the cats we have in foster now, and for those that come into rescue where it’s appropriate.

Some of our rescues in foster have lived an outdoor life and are unhappy and desperate to get outside which isn’t possible with the majority of our foster carers.

A catio, or safe/enclosed space where they can watch the birds and feel the sun on them would make such a huge difference to their lives until they find their forever home.

This is especially in the case of older kittens and cats who are getting left behind in favour of the younger ones… 😔

We may be able to provide those that don’t have a safe/enclosed space but are willing and able to foster with a catio or similar.

New arrivals 🥰

This beautiful little family arrived in rescue yesterday. This sweet mumcat had 6 kittens that the owner was trying to sell. When no one would buy the remaining two, mum and her two remaining kittens were put in a shed.

A kind member of the public looked after them and as soon as we found out, rescue space was immediately found. We are once again beyond full but space had to be found.

The two kittens are about 5m old and although gentle, they are bewildered - they will be neutered by our vets at Crab Lane on Monday.

Mamma as you may guess, is pregnant again and she doesn’t know it yet, but this will be her last litter and she will be loved and cared for by the fabulous Louise.
