Blitz
Hi everyone.
A situation has been brought to my attention over the weekend regarding my boy Marhambox Blitz Darkness Falls.
I have been passed information from a 3rd party claiming that Blitz has produced a single puppy that has been diagnosed with JKD. I wanted you to hear this from me first before people start talking and incorrect information and rumours begin to be passed around.
At this point he is not on the boxer breed council list for JKD and I am working with the breed council to ascertain which mating this puppy was from. As soon as I know I will post information on the page.
This has been an upsetting time for all at Marhambox, as we love this breed and the health and welfare of not only our own dogs but also the puppies produced by our dogs is of the highest priority.
We would never knowingly use a dog that could potentially cause an issue to the future of the breed. We health test all of our dogs to the highest standards. For this reason I will be withdrawing Blitz from stud duties until I have the definitive proof and confirmation that this is a positive case of JKD from blitz.
I would like to reassure everyone who has bought a puppy from or used Blitz at stud that he himself is showing no signs of JKD.
Usually symptoms present by the time the dog is 3 years old. They are difficult to toilet train, drink more than usual and find it difficult to gain weight. Blitz has none of the above symptoms and is a happy and healthy dog and I will be taking him for a kidney ultrasound and USG testing at our veterinary practice to check his kidney function and will update once I have the results.
At this stage it has not been proven and I am going off information from a third party only. I just wanted to be open and honest about the situation and I am working hard with the kennel club and the boxer breed council to get this resolved and confirmed as soon as possible and as soon as I have any updates I will make all information public.
Thank you.
Maria
