Poor Pippin had surgery yesterday to repair a fracture to her growth plate in her leg. Not all is sad tho a settled night in her super cozy new bed and she's definitely on the mend 🥰

Not a bad way for our favourite Vet to enjoy his birthday, maybe we should be upgrading our van to this! A different definition of Mobile Vet Scotland. Think Susan would find it even harder to keep track of us tho!

Sorry if things seem a little muddled over next week or so, due to a family bereavement we are currently running clinics as normal but would like our clients to be aware things may need to be rearranged. We will give as much notice as possible.
Thanks for the understanding.

We are currently working on setting up a zoom account to help with some appointments and follow ups as a test we are thinking of holding a client information evening this way. The question is would our clients be interested in a short information zoom event?

Could you offer Tasha the right home?
Tasha is currently living with one of our clients but her owner feels a one to one home would be much better for her to learn to trust people.
Tasha was rescued as a feral kitten from a farm, she is not nasty but is scared of people. She has bonded in her current home with her owner and will come for chicken by hand and a enjoys company of people on her terms but is in a multicat household and is over shadowed but her fellow felines. She would ideally benefit from her own home where she can learn to love and trust her person over time. Someone with experience with feral cats would be ideal or a true cat lover with plenty of time to spend with her. If you can help please contact Alessandra on 07507883535

Dusty's surprise!
Dusty came in last week with an embarrassing bottom problem. After we helped fix this, we didn't expect to see her less than 24hours later with the same problem - something started to ring alarm bells so we took an x-ray. Little did we expect to find she had a hole in her diaphragm (muscle sheet that separates the chest and abdomen). Most of her abdominal organs were in her chest including her gallbladder and part of her liver! Major surgery later and a chest drain (Emily's favourite - critical care nursing!) We are delighted to say she had made a full recovery and is happily recovering at home.
23/01/2024
Sorry everyone Emily has the flu since friday, we are hoping she will be feeling better soon and we can get everything back to normal but in the meantime Robert is still seeing appointments that only need him not both, and Susan is on hand in the office to help.
Thanks for understanding
Robert

Feeling very loved!
Thank you to our lovely clients for our nominations again this year it makes us feel so proud that our idea of one to one vet care is so appreciated by our clients in the Mobile vet Scotland family!
28/11/2023
Big news!
We are delighted to announce after months of hard work we are the first Mobile Practice in the country to be awarded Practice Standards Accreditation from the RCVS! 🎉
What does that mean?
Well it means we have been inspected and our facilities, practice procedures, protocols and standards all meet the RCVS's high standards for veterinary practices. As our clients will know, we do not take our patient care or practice standards lightly. We strive to do our best for everyone in the MVS family and now we can hold our head high to say that its confirmed! So no need to worry - our mobile vet practice is no less of a 'proper' practice than any other.
Ps. not all regular practices are part of the scheme - it is voluntary but shows how dedicated we are to high standards of care.

Rusty is also a very clever boy 🥰
15/11/2023
Rusty's story!
Rusty is one of our Highland clients with lovely Lindsay of Highland Equine Vets Ltd we manage his care. Saturday morning Rusty went out for a p*e like any other day only to come in with a floppy back leg!
After a quick visit from Lindsay and some strong painkillers he and his Mum and Dad made the journey to us in Bathgate to have his leg assessed. X-rays show he had badly damaged his ligaments which support his hock joint likely from a kick from a rather grumpy shetland pony! So, out with the tool kit and we have repaired with the help of screws and strong suture to stabilise the joint - few weeks of R&R and he will hopefully be good as new although hopefully bit more weary of the shetland!
