The weather is set to be a tad* windy this week; for the safety of myself and your dog's please note that I may shorten walks but will be assessing through the day.

If your dog is unwell and they are due a walk with me, please let me know.
Equally if your dog appears under the weather when I see them I'll let you know as per usual 🐾

Thirsk Veterinary Centre along with other practices in and around the area have seen an increase in the number of dogs visiting the practice showing signs of Gastroenteritis.

The majority of cases have improved by being treated symptomatically, however a small amount of cases have had to be hospitalised with us and administered with intravenous fluids.
The main symptoms to look out for are
•Vomiting
•Diarrhoea
•Loss of appetite
•Lethargy

Please avoid Fewston reservoir with your dog's for the time being - blue green algae can be fatal to dogs, it is absolutely not worth the risk. 🐾
