A very enjoyable morning on Saturday spent with clients getting competitive in some Christmas themed Gundog Tasks

The morning involved 5 x tasks with brain work for both dogs and handlers:

⭐ The Christmas Gundog Nativity
⭐ Where’s Holly?
⭐ Santa’s Sack
⭐ The Christmas Colour Run
⭐ Eggs-cellent Memory

And the results were:

🥇 1st : Team Turkey - Sabrina, Laura & Tracy

🥈 2nd: Team Tinsel - Cat, Fen & Jane

🥉 3rd: Team Bucks Fizz - Reggie, Dave & Sarah

🏵️ 4th: Team Sprout - Vicky, Kim & Sue

🏵️ 5th: Team Christmas Tree - Janet, Lesley & Emily

A MASSIVE thank you to my helpers at the Christmas Competition yesterday.

Fully getting into the spirit of the day and doing a fantastic job.

There was a limited amount of time for me to fire instructions at them beforehand (and for them to try and make sense of the bizarre instructions 😆!) , and they just cracked on and nailed it.

Usually the quality control supervisor is glaringly obvious….

….other times he likes to be discrete and really assess your standards and dedication to the role without you knowing.

Unfortunately for him I was very conscientious and tasted these myself

…..none for him, these are all needed for the Christmas Competition tomorrow 😋 🎄

Bruce the 14 week pup discovered the fun of puddles in his lesson this week….

…..puppy zoomies through the water were in full swing after some serious brain work for him earlier in the lesson. What a great way for him to celebrate all the things he learnt!

Two shoots, one day. 💪🏼

Monty worked hard on Saturday going from one shoot until lunch time, and on to another to help for the last two drives.

Kiwi had the best time helping to sweep the cover at the end of the day.

Nice to have some old friends back with us on the shoot too. 😃

A space for a (whole) team of 3 people has become available for the Christmas (Fun) Gundog competition on Saturday 13th December, 10am-1pm.

Full of festive filled Gundog-esque games and challenges, and drinks/nibbles after wards.

PLEASE only register if you have a full team sorted.
We can go ahead with the numbers we have, but would be nice to have the full amount of teams!

(Dogs must have a solid recall, consistent retrieve to hand, and be at my Novice course level to enter)

So, you have just enough time to get your Christmas jumpers laundered, and your's and you dog's brains in gear ready for plenty of festive fun and games!

This little guy came for a lesson this week
❤️

Just a half hour session to keep it short, focused and fun.

We worked on puppy heel work, and played a game of ‘Give and take’, teaching him that it is rewarding to deliver things to hand.

We kept it positive and stopped before he got bored to make sure he was left wanting more.

What lovely feed back from Chiara with her young dog Joey who had the wind (and rain) in his ear today!

Working hard with the ear (singular!) engaged and ready to learn! 🌟

Another great 1-2-1 training session with Lucy today! She’s so patient with me and my young Labrador, Joey — even in the pouring rain. Highly recommend her if you’re looking for a brilliant dog trainer! 🐶☔
