Had an unannounced visit this afternoon from
North Lincolnshire Council’s Licensing team to check we always follow government standards, they also check how the dogs are in our care, procedures are current and our home is safe and secure.

All well went super well! They have confirmed we are still operating at the highest standard which they award of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I hope you all agree too 🤞We pride ourselves on that we really get to know each dog as an individual 🐶

We know if your dog………

Likes their food slightly warm, on a place mat or a plate instead of a bowl 🍽️

If they prefer eating a little later in a morning or even have one meal a day 🕛

What treats they like or really don’t like!! 🦴

Who are their best dog pals, boyfriend or girlfriend💕

If they love chasing a ball or prefer a game of chase with their pals 🥎

Hate water activities or can’t get enough of water games 💦

If they love a tummy tickle, ear rub or where that spot is that gets their leg kicking 🤗

Where they have certain lumps or bumps or even where their microchip is that’s moved down onto their back.

Who’s loves a hair brush and who prefers to eat the brush so have the treats at the ready 🪮

Who will find any muddy puddle on a walk or who likes to eat or roll on anything dead ☠️

Where they like to sleep, if they need to sleep in our bedroom, if they have Pj’s on, like to be tucked into blankets, have set treats at bedtime and who likes their teddies with them 💤

By knowing all about your fur babies it means we can give the best home from home stay 💙 We can also make moms and dads aware of any changes in health or behaviour compared to what we know is normal for them.

We truly love all the dogs that stay with us and all are treated like one of the family.

💦 Mabel enjoying her fun swim this morning 💦

Our pool can be super daunting to start with 😬 As dogs are not able to feel the bottom and of course it smells fresh not like enticing stinky puddles 🤣

Mabel loves venturing into muddy puddles when out on walks so we knew she loved water 😀 Mabel just needed her confidence boosting before she was swimming away like a fish 🏊‍♀️ 🐟

With only looking after a limited amount of pups we will open our diary to existing customers first on Wednesday 1 May. Then will open 4 weeks later for new customers.

As some may know this Wednesday (21st February) a dog, who was supposed to be being looked after by a "Boarder from Rover" in our village, got out within 1h of her being dropped off, but with all the amazing help from generous people in our village and surrounding taking their time out their day/night, numerous sightings, the amazing guys from Drone SAR And the drone ranger coming out late night into the morning, then more sightings, she was caught on Thursday 22nd February and reunited with her owners. Who are hugely thankful to everyone who has helped and can't thank everyone enough x💝🐶

From a personal point of view it was devastating what had happened but incredible how everyone worked together to help find her and I am soo glad she is home with her family safe and sound with lots of cuddles. We are soo lucky to live in this village where if something happens there are always people who are willing to help x❤️

However from a business point of view I am left a little annoyed, dissapointed and upset about how this has occurred as I witnessed it happening and helped the whole way through people have seen me post to facebook straight away, I have met people who have assumed it was me who had lost the dog as I advetise I am a petsitter and dog walker within the area very close to where the dog was lost from,😔 please be rest assured it was not me x💖

Online there are sites people can use to find what they like to call pet professionals, Rover, Trusted house sitters, borrow my doggy, just to name a few, after looking at these sites I am seeing soo many people offering the services without insurance, pet first aid and most importantly for boarding, a license.

These sites look soo legit and official that people don't question them twice, the people who sign up to offer services have some fine print in terms and conditions to check if they require a licence from their local council but it still allows unlicensed boarders onto their site with no checks at all. Which to me is incredibly scary.

So If you are looking for a Boarder, pet sitter or dog walker,
Please Please Please message as we have a list of licensed boarders in our local area, and can recommend petsitters or dogwalkers if I am not available myself ,

Or ask who you are looking into,
Are you insured? (ask to see their insurance)
Are you licensed? (ask to see their licence)
Are you DBS Checked ?
Are you Canine First Aid Trained?

All these questions can and should be able to be answered if they say "rover (or other website) covers it" it is likely they are not covered at all x Ask as many questions as you would like x

Please keep your pets safe, if anyone had any questions on the event that occurred I am more than happy to answer what I can x As for the "boarder" they are being reported to hopefully stop this happening again.

I really hope no one has to go through what these owners have been through ever again x
