🦜 Help Us Rehome 5 Rescued Cockatiels! 🦜
Hello, bird lovers!
Northern Ireland Parrot Rescue and Rehome has five wonderful cockatiels looking for their forever homes. Each has a unique personality and special needs, and we're seeking caring and experienced bird lovers to provide them with the love and attention they deserve.
Meet Our Cockatiels:
1. Snowflake: A white cockatiel, partially blind, born with eyes half shut, but don’t let that fool you! Snowflake is friendly and loves to come over to you when out of the cage.
2. Buddy: This cockatiel has never been able to fly but is hand-reared and extremely tame. Buddy is perfect for someone who wants a cuddly companion.
3. Sky: Hand-reared and very tame, Sky loves to fly and interact with people.
4. Piper: Not tame but enjoys whistling tunes and will fill your home with cheerful sounds.
5. Melody: Also not tame, but a great whistler and a joy to listen to.
Diet and Wellness:
All our cockatiels are currently eating Harrison’s bird food, which is known for its high-quality ingredients and benefits for long-term health.
What We’re Looking For:
We need loving homes where these cockatiels can receive the care and attention they need. Experienced bird owners are preferred.
If you’re interested in adopting any of these beautiful cockatiels, please get in touch with us.
Thank you for your ongoing support and compassion for all our feathered friends.

🌿 Wellness Wednesday: Nurturing Parrot Health with Harrison's Pellets! 🌿
Hello Parrot Enthusiasts! 🦜💚
Ever heard of hypoallergenic dogs? Well, here's a feathered twist – did you know there are hypoallergenic parrots? Join us at Northern Ireland Parrot Rescue and Rehome, where Sunny and Sky's story unveiled a crucial insight into the impact of parrot dust on human health, prompting a mindful approach.
The Dust Dilemma:
Beyond immediate discomfort, continuous exposure to parrot dust can pose long-term health risks for owners. Inspired by Sunny and Sky's experience, we explore a holistic solution – Harrison's Organic Pellets. Packed with nutrients, they support feather and skin health, fostering a harmonious environment for your parrot.
How Harrison's Can Help:
1. Reduced Dust Production: Harrison's Pellets minimize airborne particles, benefitting various parrots.
2. Nutrient-Rich Diet: Essential for overall well-being, supporting healthier feathers and skin.
3. Less Allergenic Potential: Create a hypoallergenic environment, addressing concerns for diverse parrots.
Impact on Both Feathers and Families:
Are allergies hindering your parrot dreams? Fear not! We're here to help you find a companion that fits your situation. Consider hypoallergenic options like Parrotlets, Conures, Amazons, Eclectus, and Senegal Parrots.
Seeking a Forever Home:
Additionally, Sunny and Sky, the two cockatiels, are in need of a new loving home. They require a forever home where the new owner does not have the same allergies to ensure they're settled for life.
The Long-Term Health Boost:
Continuous exposure to parrot dust might seem harmless initially, but over time, it can lead to persistent health issues for owners. Prioritize the well-being of both your feathered friend and your family.
Ready to Prioritize Your Parrot's Wellness?
Explore Harrison's Pellets for your parrot's diet. We have them available and can ship anywhere in the UK or Ireland. Reach out to us, and we'll help you find the perfect parrot companion for your home. 🦜✨

🎉 Fun Fact Friday: Parrot Plumage! 🎉
Did you know that a parrot's vibrant feathers aren't just for show? They play a crucial role in communication and camouflage. Parrots can even change the brightness of their feathers by adjusting the position of tiny structures within the feather that reflect light.
Plus, those stunning colours aren't just pigment deep. The feathers of many parrot species can reflect UV light, which is visible to other parrots, adding a whole new dimension to how they see the world—and each other!
Isn't nature amazing? Share your favourite parrot photos below! ❤️ 🦜 🛟

🛠️🦜 Tuesday Tips and Tricks: The Art of Perfect Perches! 🦜🛠️
Perches are more than a place for your parrot to stand; they're crucial for foot health and comfort. Here's how to set up the perfect perch:
1. Variety is Key: Offer different diameters and textures to exercise those toes.
2. Natural Branches: Mimic their wild environment with branches from safe, non-toxic trees like Java.
3. Strategic Placement: Place perches at different heights and distances to encourage movement.
4. Avoid Overcrowding: Ensure perches don't crowd the cage and allow for easy flying or hopping.
What's your parrot's preferred perch? Snap a pic and let us in on their perch paradise!
For more tips on perches, watch the YouTube video below.

These two African greys came to us after their owner passed away. Jonny and Lola will be going to someone who has lots of experience with African greys. Like and follow us for further updates.
If you have the privilege of owning a parrot, please remember how intelligent they are… they need a good diet, lots of interaction and mental stimulation to be happy. Birds can get depressed, just like humans, and will pluck themselves bald 😞
If you need any help or advice, do reach out to us, and if you cannot meet your birds needs and want to surrender them to us, we will gladly take them in and give them all the diet, love, space and attention they deserve. We hope to see these birds totally transform with the right care ❤️ 🦜 🛟

Did you know parrots can use language contextually? Our very own Amazon, Lola, loves to say "bye" as we're leaving the house and asks "is that nice?" while watching us eat. It's not just clever mimicry; it's communication. African Greys and Amazons like Lola have a knack for context. What phrases does your parrot use with purpose? Share your stories and let's marvel at their intelligence! #funfactfriday #lolatheamazon #birdlovers #rescuebird #parrots #parrotlover #birdphotography #birdlife #bird #talkingparrot
