Anyone interested attlees country store in dorking are having an open day on the 28th May! Lots of special offers and sales items! As well as amazing raffle prizes! Sometimes we just need a bit of a kick up the backside, sometimes it comes from others, sometimes we have to give ourselves one. Today I gave myself one.

Riding my lovely homebred out hacking, I had to give myself a bit of a talking to, he's back in work after a year off from a bad kick. So we are just hacking, getting fitter and stronger using the amazing hills we have on our doorstep. But I've been a passenger most of the time since him being back in work, today I told myself to get a grip and ride him! I've been so focused on whether he's OK, he's sound, will he be fresh if I actually ask anything of him? All the questions we ask ourselves when actually he's at the point now where he needs to engage more and I need to start a bit of schooling whilst we hack so after giving myself a talking to, I rode my horse and there was a real difference, he felt amazing and gave me hope and glimpses of what is to come I got off feeling so proud and happy with him, he responded to my every ask and it made me kick myself more that I've been so lacking in actually riding him properly! So for anyone feeling this way, you can do it just put your leg on and ride! We all do it but we also need to be self disciplined to get our act together and give them the best, as we ask of them . ❤️🐴
