There’s a troll going round all the doggy related businesses leaving negative reviews.

I’ve just been targeted and normally I’d respond with a nice message he’s clearly a spammer. These reviews have consequences for my buisness both how Facebook and Google choose to rank/rate my page.

So if I could ask a favour and if you haven't already done so could you please leave a review or recommend my business. This will help minimise the impact of the negative recommendation. Tap on the reviews tab and then recommend. That should hopefully bury this spammy reviews.

Secondly report the fake recommendation, because on Facebook can remove it. I’ve been in touch with them but they’re not doing anything!

Thanks Conrad!

Are you someone who we can count on to take care of our clients animals, come rain or shine? Are you reliable, proactive and not afraid of the Scottish weather and countryside?

We have an opening for a part-time, leading to full Dog Walker / Pet Sitter position, and are looking for someone animal focused and reliable to help us take care of our clients' animals.

ONLY APPLICANTS WHO FOLLOW OUR APPLICATION PROCESS WILL BE CONSIDERED.

Are you looking for a job where your ideal day is spending time with dogs, cats, rabbits and other feathered and furry animals? If so then read on!

We’re looking for someone to join our small team starting off on a part time basis, set to increase over time. The working hours usually fall between 9.00 and 16.00, Mon-Fri, although some out of hours and weekend work may be required.

This is what your day will look like:

- Driving picking dogs up from our clients homes - usually 4 dogs per trip.
- Visiting doggy friendly areas where you walk and play with your pack and doing some light dog training.
- Maintaining our equipment, scooping up poops and ensuring that our reputation is maintained when you meet members of the public.
- Take pics and videos, write a little summary of the walk and send it on to us to forward to our pet parents.

To enjoy this job:

- You have a passion and real love for animals.
- You’re reliable, honest and understand that you’re dealing with people’s family.
- Sensible and accommodating to change, understanding that animals are unpredictable.
- Comfortable with dogs of all sizes.
Interested in dog training, perhaps looking to become a dog trainer / behaviourist.
- You’re happy to work as part of a team and on your own. You’ll be on your feet for up to 4 hours a day, come rain or shine.
- Physically fit to keep engaged and manage a group of dogs and you’re able to towel dogs and refill water bowls throughout the day.
- You have a clean drivers license and you’re a confident driver.
- You’re a good communicator and you’re comfortable speaking to customers, members of the public and your team members.

You’ll get:

- A car, a smart phone, and equipment to do the job.
- Training to understand dog body language.
- Pet first aid training.
- Client and customer care, and soft skills training
- Dog training, perhaps leading to a dog training qualification if desired.
- Cuddles from all sorts of animals.
- A day that is varied and fulfilling
- A job that keeps you fit and healthy

If successful at an interview, you will be asked to complete a paid trial week to give you the opportunity to decide whether this is a job for you. We want to make sure the person that joins our team is just right for the job too!

What you’ll get paid:

You will go through initial training and you’ll work for us as an independent contractor. You’ll get paid £7.50 per dog, per walk, which means that once you’re at capacity you’ll walk 3 walks a day with 4 dogs per walk. That means you’ll earn from dog walks around £1500 per month, of which you need to pay your own tax and national insurance. Pet sitting or visits will be an additional income source, but these will be ad-hoc.

You won’t be full from the get go, but we aim to have you at capacity within 3 months so bear that in mind when working out your finances.

How to apply:

In your response please include a full CV and a cover note by email or bonus points a video with your answers to the following;
1. Why are you applying and how your skills and experience apply to this role?
2. Your experience working with animals?
3. What 3 things will you take to a desert island and why?

Upload videos to Youtube as unlisted and send us the link.

Please send the details to [email protected]

We will be taking applications until the 15th of August, or until a sufficient amount of applications is reached. We’ll be interviewing on a rolling basis, so don’t delay in getting your application in.

*With the level of interest we won't be able to reply to all but the successful applicants. Thank you for reading

Conrad helped us with our English bulldog 14 months old - Ralph. Before we decided on the trainer I spent days researching options in Edinburgh and when coming across Tail Academy, I literally got a great vibe. Conrad was kind enough to talk to me on the phone before made the decision to go ahead with 121 training, explaining about his approach but also asking questions about us and our pup, this was exactly what I was looking for.
We had 4 individual sessions with Conrad at our place and local park over several weeks. Not only Ralph is finally behaving and listening to us but also we learnt a great deal from Conrad ourselves, it really was training for us not Ralphie . I found Conrad really attentive, fun to work with and most importantly loving animals, Ralph took to him instantly and really followed all the guidance and instructions through play and reward.
I cannot recommend Tail Academy enough, knowledge, patience and total commitment are few of many aspects. What was the best; whatever we asked about Conrad had an answer and an idea for us and our dog to learn and train. We focused on jumping up on people (this was our biggest issue), recall, managing his boredom and walking without jumping on our feet. We got ton of tips which we are following now. We most definitely see a huge difference in the behavior. I will be going back to Tail Academy at some point to ensure we keep on top of what we learnt.

Thank you very much Conrad!
