As Billie & Juno love each other so much we decided to take down the partition between their pens & let them all mingle! It’s going very well so far, both bitches are feeding and cleaning each others puppies (two mums is better than one right?) they have lots more room to explore AND more siblings to play with 🥳 I could spend all day in this pen 🥰

Our older litter of Staffordshire Bull Terriers have started toddling so toilet training starts now ✨ As the puppies make an effort to move away from their bed to go to the toilet we introduce a new texture that will soon mean to them “this is where I go” By 5 weeks old these puppies will seek out the Astro turf to go to the toilet and by 8 weeks they should start to be able to hold it for a short period of time to go outside ☺️👏

Micki x Colt 24 - toilet training begins

Our Micki X Colt litter are now three weeks old and starting to toddle around - which means we can start toilet training We utilise the puppies natural instinct to try to move away from the bed to wee & poo and use astro turf to create an association with change of texture and going to the toilet It is slightly more faff at this stage for breeders but will pay off massively when the puppies are 8 weeks old and all using a small toilet area in one corner of the pen It also sets them up for success with toilet training in their new home which is obviously great for both the puppy and their new family 😊

ENS with Mickis puppies 2024

Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) is a process that introduces mild stresses to very young puppies in a controlled way These stresses help stimulate the neurological system which improves the growth and development of the pup's immune system, cardiovascular system, and stress tolerance 😮 The US Military developed this method - designed to improve the performance of future military working dogs 🐕 These simple exercises are performed each day between the 3rd and 16th day of life and are one of the many things we do to give our puppies the very best start we can ☺️

Why our puppies are so good with children - because my daughter does things like this & obviously thinks it’s acceptable to put them on my brand new M&S bed sheets whilst I’m sorting out paperwork 🤦‍♀️
