In this week's puppy class we introduced dealing with weird and new things. But the training doesn't just apply to puppies as our dogs can come across weird and novel experiences at any age.
Halloween and Christmas decorations are a case in point.
If your dog is likely to get spooked by the decorations, pair the sight of them with a healthy treat for your dog, fed calmly to the mouth (or a calm stroke or calm words if more appropriate for your dog ) as you approach and pass by.
If your dog still struggles, allow a little more distance between your dog and the scary stuff 🎃.
