My name is Joanne Parker and over nearly two decades living with my dogs in London, alongside running art galleries, I am acutely aware of how important it is for us dog owners to have a reliable, professional dog care service, when we are at work and to fall back on when we are travelling or often at last minute due to our busy lifestyles. Many of us preferring to avoid commercial kennels.
And this is how Hound in the City has been established: informed by my own personal experiences over the years using excellent dog walking and home boarding services. Our aim is to provide that genuine peace of mind for you as our client.
This is a small business based in South London SE26 and our services can be tailored to meet your schedules and your dog’s needs. I have a good knowledge of many different breeds, so there is no set criteria. However it is important that I initially visit you at your home or ideally join you on a walk to help ensure that I understand your dog's temperament, routines and specific needs.
Services:
- Dog walking locally (E.G: SE26, SE23, SE20, SE19, BR2)
- Individual and small group walks (up to x 4 dogs)
- Day care (1/2 and full day available)
- Overnight Boarding
Dog Walking: we do x 3 60 min walks daily (am, lunch, pm)
Small group walks - up to 4 dogs
Solo walks - may be your preference, or if your dog needs 1:1 attention, or due to age, or recovering from illness
I require your permission to walk your dog off leash in safe, confined areas. Plus I will only do so once I've had an opportunity to build up a relationship with your dog and assessed their recall.
Our day care and boarding service is in a spacious Victorian property with a safe, fully fenced 70 ft garden. This is a home environment, where I live with my wire haired fox terrier, Ashoka, he is 4 years old. I only cater for up to 2-4 dogs at any one time.
Our dogs enjoy the full space of the property and join us on at least x 2 long walks daily. Adventures include exploring the many vast local parks and woods which rural London and the south east has to offer.
During the day your dog will have 24/7 companionship, lots of play, love and attention plus time to nap and relax in equal measure. Or really guided by what they prefer to do.
In advance of their stay with us, we will chat through your dogs routines, temperament, meals and any specific requirements, including medical. Your dog may prefer to bring their own bed, favourite blanket and toys plus food / water bowls or if easier don't worry because we have plenty of all. We ask that you supply their food.
At Hound in the City we place great emphasis on ensuring our dogs will get on well together. We have a lot of experience and if there happens to be an occasion when we are unable to help you then we may be able to offer recommendations to try elsewhere.
Hound in the City has full insurance, is DRB checked and I keep updated on dog first aid and legislation via various courses. I have Gold Membership at NarpsUK.
Please don't hesitate to get in contact, I'll be very happy to have a chat and see if my services are suitable for you.
