Check out 17week old Marley, his owners have been fantastic since day 1 and he is getting better each day such a smart little pup 🤩Bringing a new puppy home can be very overwhelming and hard work but training should start the day you bring your pup home before they start developing bad habits.
If you getting a new pup and intrested in one to one puppy training just message the page 😊

Please keep your dog and livestock safe keep on lead on if your dog doesn't have 100% recall. Even little dogs can scare sheep by chasing them, farmers has every right to shoot your dog if found doing so people please don't be irresponsible xx

Let's talk dog muzzles, I have had permission to share these pictures to show examples of small fitted muzzles and correctly fitted ones.I have seen a few dogs recently with incorrectly sized muzzles on they have have little to no pant room, panting is how dogs cool down and by restricting this you are putting your dog a a HUGE risk of over heating especially with the warmer weather coming, Short term like vets visits ect it's not to bad, but so many people use them for walks and just dont think about the dogs need to pant.

Dogs need them for a variety of reasons not always agression some are big scavengers who eat things they shouldn't to while on walks. They also should be muzzle conditioned so they are comfortable with it and have a positive association with them. Feel free to share xx

Sorry have been quiet, been very busy recently taken on some training cases last few weeks. However
**Warning** RANT coming!
Today while out I saw 2 separate ocassions with dogs dashing out of front doors, one ran right out into the road the owner screaming "Get here!!" and shouting at dog only made it worse as wouldn't go near him 😔. The other dog nearly pulled the guy over and hurt his arm being dragged out the door way, threshold/doorway training can be an absolute life saver for dogs, and is easy to teach a dog not to cross the threshold untill given the ok. The beautiful little Rocco has been doing since he was little and it's such a better state of mind for dogs to leave the house, check him look up waiting for the ok, next steps on this would be increasing distance and distraction, to proof the behaviour 👍 well done rocco

If your dog is allowed off lead then that's great but if you come across another dog on lead you should recall your dog away and pop it back on lead, many reasons dogs have to be kept on a lead, happens all to often an on leash dog approached by off lead dog with no recall, please be a responsible and courteous owner 😊,

What a nice afternoon 😎🌞 scooby and rocco enjoying the sunshine 🥰🥰

Are you accidentally rienforcing a behaviour you dont want
with your dog? Good and bad Habits form by-way-of consistency, and association.
Example your dog pulls on lead to get to a smell, the pulling gets him to what he wanted he then has automatically positively reinforced pulling therefore will pull more often.
Do you need a little help with training please message the page or send a text 🐶🐾😊

Common issues include

* House training
* Counter surfing
* Jumping up
* Pulling on the lead
* Becoming leash reactive
* Playing keep away in the backyard( recall )
* Staying in an adrenalized state can be habitual.

Try taking your dog on a sniffari once in a while...... what is this you might be thinking? Let your dog pick the route allowing unlimited stopping and sniffing, try a new area in town to walk with new scents, people often just drag dogs along as we are on a walk, let the dog decompress and fully take in the world's smells. There’s research confirming that a sniffari (also called a decompression walk) and other scent work activities make our dogs happier, allowing them sniff more is great mental work for dogs and can be more tiring than just physical exercise.

SNIFFARI WALKING IS…
* Dog leads you
*explore the world,mental and physical exercise
*Wandering, meandering, roaming
*Lots of starting and stopping

LEASH WALKING IS.....
* You lead dog
* Physical exercise/toilet
* Directed and direct
*More paced

Unlike humans, dogs have an additional olfactory (scent) tool that increases their ability to smell. Jacobsen’s organ (or the vomeronasal organ) is a special part of the dog’s olfactory system located inside the nasal cavity and opens into the roof of the mouth behind the upper incisors. This amazing organ serves as a secondary olfactory system designed specifically for chemical communication.

I have had some fun today and so have the dogs😍. Amazing how they all act so different rocco was prancing around like a little lamb, scooby digging into it, honey was just having so much fun zooming around, Ronnie and reggie both had a go at eating it 🤣🤩

🥶🥶 I don't normally mind the cold but have been feeling it the last few days, some dogs don't do well with the cold make sure you keep them warm loving scoobys coat 😍, if your doing shorter walks with dogs at the moment there are lots of games and exercises you can do at home to keep your dog physically and mentally stimulated and burn that energy off with out even leaving the house, searching games, puzzle feeders learning new tricks and drilling obedience work all fantastic ways of bonding with your dog and giving stimulation 🩵💙🥶

Oh jasper🥰🤩, he can be quite a nervous little man but loves a good game of fetch, today we did search games for his ball and treats, after doing some confidence building work getting nervous dogs to use thier nose more is calming for them aswell as great mental and physical exercise

See this all to often people often think the correct way to approach dogs is holding out the back of your hand however this can appear threatening to a nervous or fearful dog. They don't need your hand to smell you they have much stronger sence of smell than us.

You wouldn't walk up to someone you've never met before & start touching them would you? Even if a dog comes over to sniff you, it still doesn't necessarily mean they want you to touch them, sniffing is how they gather information about you.

Of course some dogs are super sociable and do want a ruffle and a fuss, but unless a dog is practically mobbing you with a full body wag, just wait and see how that dog feels about you before even thinking about interacting with them.

You wouldn't walk up to someone you've never met before & start touching them would you?

So please don't do it to dogs you've never met before either.

At the very least it's an uninvited invasion of personal space, but many dogs, especially Romanian & foreign rescue dogs are not comfortable with people they don't know and don't want to be touched.

Even if they wander over to sniff you, it still doesn't necessarily mean they want you to touch them, sniffing is how they gather information about you, much like us having a conversation. I've seen many a dog approach for a sniff and then dart out of the way when a hand comes towards them.

Even the often believed correct approach of holding out the back of your hand can appear threatening to a nervous or fearful dog.

Of course some dogs are super sociable and do want a ruffle and a fuss, but unless a dog is practically mobbing you with a full body wag, just wait and see how that dog feels about you before even thinking about interacting with them, and never walk up and stroke a dog that is laying down quietly minding their own business.
