There are roadworks starting at the top of Springhill Brae (at the shop) today for 2 weeks.

These will likely cause delays

I didn’t get a before photo of the cream girl but she was covered in huge matted clumps too. The vet shaved these off when she went for a check up .

The poor wee pup still has all its puppy teeth. I hope karma visits whoever dumped these dogs

If you plan to let off any fireworks, let your neighbours know in advance so they can plan for pets that might be affected.

If you live close to horses, let their owners know well in advance that you are letting fireworks off. Site your fireworks well away from them and aim them in the opposite direction. It is important to be considerate to horse owners as they cannot easily move horses away from fireworks.

On nights where fireworks are being let off, keep dogs and cats inside with somewhere to hide and give small outdoor pets extra bedding and nesting material to burrow in.

Please don’t do it. It’s just not worth your pets life. Keep them in the shade where it’s cooler.
Wake up earlier and walk your dog before the heat hits and then later in the evening once the sun sets. A quick let out for the toilet is all they need during the day. It’s not forever and certainly not for long in our country.

Remember they can overheat indoors too so keep a room cool for your dog with plenty of cool water. It’s very difficult to reverse heat stroke and it’s vital you seek veterinary help ASAP if your dog is showing any signs.

20 years ago in June, I went to Scotgroom training school in Carluke for a β€œtaster week” to see if dog grooming was a career for me.
I was lucky enough that Agnes didn’t want to let me go and kept me, working with her before i set up my own business- Scruffz to Kruftz almost 2years later.

Some of you let me practice on your beautiful dogs whilst I was still training in those 2 years and some of you have been with me since i opened my doors.

I feel very grateful to have groomed so many wonderful dogs over these last 20years and have loved being a small part of your dog’s lives, grooming them from their very first grooming appointment as fluffy puppies and watching them growing up over the years to golden oldies. They all have a place in my heart πŸ’Ÿ

I don’t think many people can say they still have as much passion for their career after all this time β™₯️

I’ve met so many amazing people through Dog Grooming. It’s just the best job ever! βœ‚οΈ

Cheers to every single one of you that’s supported me and my small business over the past 20 years πŸ₯‚
