Please be sensible and don't take your dog's out in the hot weather 🐶

I'd rather lose money as a dog walker than lose a pet to heat stroke and as a veterinary nurse I've seen how devastating it is to lose a patient over a 5 minute walk 🐾

No dog has ever died from missing one walk but dogs do die from one walk in the heat ❤️

Last week I had the pleasure of looking after him whilst his family had a holiday and whilst
the first morning he was a little shy it wasn't long before we were firm friends as he was rolling around for belly rubs and fuss when I did my twice daily visits 🐾

He ate well, he was playing with his toys and his owners reported he was very chilled and relaxed when they got home 🐈

Call or message now for a FREE meet and greet to see if we can help ☎️

Last week we looked after the gorgeous Toulouse so his owner could have a holiday 🥰

Having a pet sitter means your cat stays stress free in his home comforts rather than in a cattery ❤️

Happy World Chocolate Day 🍫

We all enjoy a sweet treat from time to time but please remember that chocolate is highly toxic to pets particularly Dogs and Cats.

Chocolate contains theobromine and caffeine, both of which are harmful to animals. The darker the chocolate, the more harmful it is and even small quantities can cause serious health problems such as vomiting, diarrhoea, increased heart rate, increased respiratory effort and in severe cases, seizures and death.

By ensuring all chocolate is kept out of their reach and only feeding pet friendly treats we can keep them healthy for many more years to come 🐾

July 5th marks Pet Remembrance Day. It is a day to celebrate and remember the wonderful pets we’ve loved and lost, and the lasting impact they’ve had on our lives ❤️

Over the years, we have lost many pets so know first hand how important these family members are to us and the reason behind why we work with animals 🐾

Here are a few of ours...
Feel free to comment and add your own special pets 💓

Coco swapped her usual lunchtime walks for some early morning and evening walks in the woods this week to avoid the sun especially important for dogs like Coco who are more senior in age.

She still enjoyed some fresh air but we kept nice and cool in the shade with plenty of water.

A 7am walk for Dave this morning to avoid the midday sun. What a lovely start to the day 🐾

Tops Tips for Dog Walking during the heatwave

🐾 Walk your dog when it's cooler in the early morning or late evening 🐾

🐾 Do the Tarmac test: If you can't comfortably hold your hand on the ground for five seconds then postpone your walk until its cooler 🐾

🐾 Ensure your Dog has plenty of Shade and water throughout the day 🐾

🐾 Take extra care with brachycephalic breeds (Flat faced), overweight, unwell and older dogs as they are at increased risk of heatstroke 🐾

🐾 Exercise is the most common trigger for heat related illness so take care not to over exert your dog 🐾

2. **Physical Exercise**: Different terrains and routes offer varied physical challenges, helping to maintain your dog's physical health and fitness.
