Had to take a trip to the vets, she stopped after 3rd pup. Concerns there may have been more pups to come, but after an xray they confirmed she's just had the three 😍😍 so back home now and settled ###xx

Just to make people aware of a new virus found affecting dogs..........Dog owners - there’s a bad virus going round at the moment, and we’re reading about it non stop. Vets are putting out advice as it’s spreading really fast and they’re seeing an advanced amount of admissions.

Try stay away from parks, don’t let your dog drink outside water, from puddles etc. Also, limit sniffing and clean your dogs paws after every walk, in case they’ve walked in the virus,and they then catch it when cleaning themselves.

Information we gathered from the vets 👇

🐾 Vets are reporting higher than usual occurrence of gastroenteritis in dogs, which may be a part of a normal increase that vets see during the colder months, suggesting a possible seasonal link, as reported by the Small Animal Veterinary Surveillance Network (SAVSNET).

🐾 The British Veterinary Association (BVA) advises concerned owners to “contact their local vet for prompt treatment if their dog shows any signs of illness, such as vomiting and diarrhea /…/ With gastroenteritis, most cases are mild, but some dogs may need hospitalisation with a drip. In the worst situations, it can become haemorrhagic leading to secondary complications or even death, but that is very rare.”

🐾 According to vet Dr. Danielle Greenberg of SAVSNET (as reported by The Mail) this vomiting bug is unusual due to:
* Prolific vomiting of 5 or more episodes in a 12h period which can stop for a period (such as overnight) and then starts again.
* Dogs are often unable to keep water down at peak vomiting stage.
* Anorexia and lethargy for 2-5 days.
* Diarrhoea: Most dogs have ‘gravy-like’ diarrhoea.
* Full recovery can take 5-10 days.
