Good afternoon everyone.
We are sending out messages tomorrow to anyone booked on the following classes regarding the extreme weather forecast on Sunday....
Puppy class,
Bronze,
Silver,
Gold,
Pest to Best
Week 1 is an introduction week, there will be a lot of talking, explaining and demonstrating the homework. We are happy for you not to bring the dogs to class and just come on your own.
Why we will make every effort to keep both halls cool we can not guarantee what it will be like in there. We have not been in there above 25 degrees and your dogs health and comfort is important to us.

We are very excited to share details of our next set of puppy and dog training classes

The next courses are Sunday 17th July

Puppy course - 12.30

Naughty but nice class for puppies and dogs over 9 months - 1.30

Kennel Club Bronze - 2.30 pm

Kennel Club Silver - 3.15 pm

All classes are held Oakwood Community Centre, Springwood Dr, Oakwood, Derby, DE21 2RQ

The courses will be for 8 weeks and each cost £150.00 (please note that full payment will be required to secure your place as places are limited)
If you have holidays booked within this time then please let us know so we can secure extra time with you so you are not missing out on a week of vital training (there will be no extra charge for this)
We do encourage that if you have children then to bring them with you so they can take part in the training too.
1:1 bookings are now open on a Sunday morning.

We also do Mantrailing (teaching a dog to find a missing person) if you are looking for a new fun hobby with your pooch.

Are you looking for something new and fun to do with your dog? Do you just want to get out for a few hours to enjoy some peace and quiet with like minded people? Do you and your dog want to learn a new life skill?
If so then Mantrailing is just what you are looking for.
We have new introduction dates to Mantrailing now live on the website.
Monday 27th June at 9.30 Bramcote Hills Park.
Wednesday 6th July at 3.30 at Chaddesden Park
Saturday 23rd July at 1.30 Bramcote Hills
Tuesday 9th August at 9.30 at Chaddesden Park

Mantrailing is a fun and active hobby available for owners and dogs of all ages and abilities, it is teaching search and rescue techniques where you and your dog become a team to find missing persons, only 1 dog is worked at any time so even reactive dogs can take part in this fun sport.

I have posted a video of Marley working the trails, the video was done on a day it had been pouring with rain, the trail was heavily contaminated by other walkers and dogs and aged 50 minutes long. At the point this video was taken Marley had only been Mantrailing for 7 months!

Join us for an introduction to Mantrailing on Wednesday 30th March at 10am at Chaddesden Park
What is Mantrailing? I hear you ask……..
Mantrailing is an exciting new dog sport that teaches you and your dog to hunt down a missing person.
It’s a low impact which means it’s inclusive to all. Any age or breed of dog can be taught Mantrailing from young puppies to golden oldies or those retired sports dogs.
Dogs are worked on a 1-2-1 basis so it’s even suitable for dogs with behavioural issues.
Sessions are kept small to maximize 1-2-1 training time.
Tickets cost £55 per team.
Once the introduction is completed you can book on to progression courses at a cost of £25 in one of our venues around Oakwood, Borrowash, Mapperley, Ockbrook and many more. A team equals 1 owner/handler and 1 dog. Limited spaces available.
The event will take approximately 3 hours and a light lunch and refreshments is included.

Anyone who was in our 3pm Bronze class could you check dash cam footage if you have a dash cam please. This explains why the helicopter landed in front of us. Glad the gentleman is going to be okay.

Officers investigating the stabbing of a man in Derby are appealing for the public’s help.

The force was called to reports that a man in his 40s, who was wearing a backpack, was found with serious injuries close to the Oakwood Medical Centre at around 2.50pm on Sunday 13 February.

The man was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition – his injuries are not believed to be life threatening at this time.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may be able to help with their enquiries.

Good Morning to all our clients,

Our Kennel Club Bronze course will be restarting on Sunday 13th Feb. If you have completed or about to complete the Kennel Club Puppy Foundation Course then this is the next one that follows on.

Kennel Club Silver is also going to be on Sunday 13th Feb, this is for clients that have completed the Kennel Club Bronze course.

Both courses are 8 weeks long and costs £150 (please note, we do ask for payment upfront to secure your place)
