NEW WORKSHOP ALERT!
SCENT DETECTION & TRACKING TASTER!
Have you ever wanted to try Scent Detection &Tracking with your dog? Well this taster workshop may well just be the thing for you!
We are pleased to announce that we have a new 2-Hour Search Work & Tracking Workshop that we will be holding on Sunday 9th June from 3pm - 5pm based at a private field location in Winnersh which is available for booking via or website link:

Searchwork & Tracking is a fun activity to do with your dog as it provides them with mental stimulation and releases endorphins in your dogs brain. It is also a means of reducing dogs stress levels and anxiety and is also a good physical workout for them. (10 minutes of active sniffing is the equivalent of an hours run!)
So if you are interested in this workshop and want to provide your dog with some mental stimulation by giving them a job to do then come and check it out!
This workshop is suitable for all sociable dogs of any age and ability!
We can also provide tracking courses via 121 appointment. If you are interested in 121s then drop us a message!

A space has become available on this workshop for tomorrow Saturday 11th May at 1pm in Tilehurst if you'd like to do something a bit different with your dog!
If you'd like to have some fun with your dog whilst providing them with some good enrichment and tire them alternatively through the use of their nose, then our 1-hour Fun Sniff & Search Workshop on Saturday 11th of May at 1:00pm at our Tilehurst Venue may be the thing for you!
10 minutes of nose work is proven to be as effective as a whole 60 minute walk and releases happy endorphins in your dogs brain!
Suitable for sociable dogs of any age.

A huge congratulations to Cleo and her owners who have successfully passed their IMDT Partnership Grade Level 2 with the Smart Dog Academy!
It has been amazing to see this partnership grow from when we first started 121 home sessions with Cleo when she was 10 weeks old and then through our Puppy Foundation Course, Improvers Course and now at 14 months flying through our IMDT grade membership Scheme
We are so very proud of how much effort and dedication both Cleo and her owners put in to their training! 🤗

Very pleased to announce that the Smart Dog Academy are now home to not just one, but two Easy Peasy Puppy Instructors after we passed our assessments! 🎊
As a commitment to our loyal customers, we will continue to increase our knowledge base and skills so we are able to provide the most up to date, effective and ethical training for you and your puppies!

Meet Lola!
This beautiful puppy has joined the Smart Dog Academy as part of our Puppy Foundation 1-2-1 package. We spent her first session going over the reward based techniques we will be using throughout her training as well as discussing the importance of Socialisation & Exposure during a puppy's critical learning period.
We also took the opportunity to start putting in fundamentals for her training where we installed a marker and began to teach her some new commands to start building her relationship with her owner

Meet Titan!
The incredibly handsome Tank has joined the Smart Dog Academy as part of our Puppy Foundation 1-2-1 package. Matt had the pleasure of starting Simba's 1-2-1 Puppy Foundations training journey this morning!
We covered reward based training methods and why they are so effective, socialisation & exposure, installing a marker word and got started on some all important fundamentals such as downs, stands and hand targets to build behaviours upon.
He is a such a gorgeous pup and very bright at such a young age! Well done to you and your owners today Simba, you smashed it!
Can't wait to see how he develops over the upcoming weeks!

YourDog Training & Dogs at Home are pleased to announce our last Forest Retreat for this year will be held at 11am on Sunday 17th September. Our retreat walks show you a fantastic way to spend time with your dog creating memories and increasing the bond with your dog by introducing them to novel sights, smells and tastes. We will guide you through this interactive alternative to a walk based on the ‘rucksack walk’ concept created by Steve Mann, creator of the IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers). We will also provide you with a doggy bag including ideas on how you can recreate the experience using your own ingredients. Spaces are limited to ensure you get the best from this experience so book now to avoid disappointment. Suitable for dogs of all ages. Testimonials: “What a fun afternoon! We had lots of fun at our exposure and socialisation class on Saturday with some stunning puppies. We learnt about how to read body language, settle in a vet waiting room, manual handling by a stranger and how to safely introduce dogs on lead. There were lots of novelty things to see, hear, smell and feel as well as a small group narrated play session at the end. A huge thank you to Louise & Catherine from Karen and Myself for all your help on the day. As always, we couldn’t do it without your support!

YourDog 2022 wrap-up
Looking back on so many photos from this year alone and I wonder where all that time has gone? I guess time really does fly when you are having fun 😃. It has been such a privilege to spend time with your doggos and will continue to be! Thank you all for your support this year in 2022! I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas and celebrate the New Year with style 😎. Looking forward to coming back next year and spending time with all the gang!
