Something new is happening. 😃😃

Good evening all.
How have you all been during lock down.
I’ve had a few people asking me about their pups behaviour during this Pandemic. Some have become needy and in need of constant attention. Some have become distant and withdrawn.
I believe the answer lays with the disruption to their life’s. Some but not all have time out from families during the day with kids off to school and mums and dads out to work.
Routines have become scrambled and mixed up. Their 30 min rushed walk first thing has become a midday hour to coincide with our 1 hour exercise because of the lockdown. Their food and bed space is now invaded with a busy house again.
Don’t forget their amazing sense of something is wrong. Everyone is getting stressed being in lockdown or watching all the doom and gloom on the news. Feelings of going out and meeting people within the 2m distancing rule scares us. No petting from regular friends and meeting their mates on a
Walk. It’s all a massive change for them.
Give them some time out. Let them hide away or do something you’re not aware they do. Stay calm around them and give them the fuss. It will help us relax and deal with everything better.
As the next phase is release the lockdown and we will probably have to all wear masks outside which will send the pups into overdrive as they will no longer be able to read the faces of people approaching them. Very stressful.
If you can show the pups what Masks are and how you look in them it may help them accept us. It’s gonna be the norm for a while.
