The aim of our team is to breed the highest quality Working Cockers in the UK, whilst rehoming and training working breed dogs for operational roles/environments.
A flying visit with Breeze (& her wing woman Kizzy 😜) to Carmarthen at to catch up with & so that Breeze could meet her mate Tarncrags Razzamataz - “Taz”.
Breeze ensured he took her for a date first and gave him the run around before deciding he was okay 🫢😂 Fingers crossed we will be expecting the arrival of some little paws soon! 🐾
Breeze had her BVA Eye exam & Gonioscopy yesterday at the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals with the lovely Opthalmologist Christiane.
It’s important these tests are done in certain breeds prone to eye disease in order to protect the breed lines by reducing hereditary problems passed on to future generations.
Breeze was very patient waiting around between tests and with the eye drops that are given to dilate the pupils.
Great news - her eyes are just as good as they were for her last test in 2021 so she’s all signed off and has her health tests ready 🥰
Breeze was a star patient and being that the RVC is a teaching hospital she sat beautifully still to allow the veterinary students to also look at her eyes. Of course this was rewarded with some well received cocktail sausage for Breeze after! 🌟
Ophthalmologist Christiane was totally smitten with Breeze, being a working cocker owner herself, and is looking forward to news of the pups if all goes to plan!

This will be her final litter and all being well we expect puppies around the end of September 2024.
We are registering interest from people who are seriously considering adding to their family this year with one of these very special pups.
Don’t be fooled by the cute pictures, these are Working Cocker Spaniels with beautiful temperaments but lots of drive.
Previous pups are doing well in gundog, agility & sporting homes
Health tested parents with beautiful temperaments, drivey but with an off switch at home.

🐶 Twiglet Update 🐶
On Wednesday 15th May Twiglet went for his cleft palate repair surgery
His palate defect affected the hard and soft palate tissue on the roof of his mouth.
As a newborn pup the defect was very small but as he grew it sadly widened.
This meant his nasal cavity was open leaving him at risk of recurring infections from debris & food amongst other things.
The best option for him to continue a happy & healthy lifestyle was for him to have a surgical repair.
However this is not a routine procedure and carried it’s own risks.
We are very grateful to Kevin at the Farnham Veterinary Group for agreeing to take on the op with the assistance of Dr Samantha Marshall .
The existing tissue from the roof of his mouth was carefully incised and lifted (keeping the blood supply in tact) to essentially fold it back over the opening in the centre to close the gap in his hard palate.
His soft palate was stitched closed with some small incisions either side to relieve tension to help prevent the closure breaking down.
Twiglet was so resilient and once his pain had been managed during recovery he was acting as if nothing had happened no more than 48hrs later!!
It’s now been 10 days since his operation and he has been discharged from further check ups unless there are any concerns!
He still has to be fed a soft watered down paste for the time being whilst the soft tissue is healing and no tuggy games for now much to his disappointment 😅
However we’ve included a photo of him at the local dog show & family fun day just 3 days post op and so happy to be out meeting all his adoring fans! 😍
We’re still raising funds towards his procedure and once again we are so grateful to everyone who has donated and wished him well.
And lastly a huge thanks to his lovely Wells family for being so fabulous with him and ensuring a smooth recovery ❤️🩹

We hope that by sharing his story we can raise awareness for cleft palate defects in puppies as whilst they are rare they do happen.
Often these pups are euthanised at birth due to a lack in understanding / information available about how to manage the condition.
Twiglet required intensive round the clock care for the first 4 weeks of his life but to see him now living life to the fullest it was worth every minute of extra TLC 💜

We are delighted to say that we received news today that Ralph has passed his assessment to become an operational detection dog.
The feedback on his training was really good and the team are all over the moon for him!
Ralph will now complete some more advanced training before joining the frontline working on government contracts across the UK and Europe trained to protect UK borders.

Twiglet has his operation scheduled next Wednesday! With only a week to go it’s fair to say we are all a little nervous for such a big procedure. However we know that it’s the best thing for him in the long run to continue living a healthy happy and normal life so we want to thank you all again for your kind words, support & generosity towards his surgery.
Keeping our fingers & paws crossed for a smooth recovery and we will update everyone on how he is getting on 🥰

Loki enjoying a run around the woods after a long drive home! 🐶 We’ve had a couple of questions about what happens now for Loki. We will give him a couple of days to settle in and adjust to the new way of life here. He will get plenty of exercise and we will transition him onto his new diet. Once this has been done we will slowly start looking at his toy drive, environmentals, social skills, confidence and determination. We will update the page with his progress as we go 😊
We’re delighted to announce that both Star and Nova have passed their assessments and will be starting their journeys into working life. We wish them both the best as they move forward into operational detection roles that they both really deserve Another happy ending for two dogs from rescue 🌟
